Hi All
I had a search and couldn't find anything directly related so here is my problem.
I had reasonably large library collected over the pasted years (16,000 songs - 150Gb) from a variety of sources and in a variety of formats; as storage has become less expensive I've moved to FLAC and Apple Lossless.
Because of the the iPodisation of the World I predominantly use iTunes as my default sound player - it is also simple to stream to Aiport Express units at other parts of the house.
Because of the varied history of my library the relative volume levels (between albums) can be quite extreme; some due, no doubt to inexpreience when I was ripping my CD library.
iTunes SoundCheck sounds pretty poor to my ears so I dont use that.
I have looked at J River and FooBar 2000 but still not totally sold on either - and haven't checked out their normalization features (if any?)
I guess what I wanting to know is (if anyone has experience) is should I be looking at a great sounding normalization feature within J River or FooBar (if it exists) or is there a lossless option to normalize level across my library (FLAC, Apple Lossless & MP3).
Thanks for your thoughts
Chris
