How can one tell the Mytek 192 we order is the last version with the gain switch ?

I dunno about you but when I buy stuff I want it to be usable out of the box and not having to spend time/money send things across the country to solve a problem that shouldn't have exist in the first place.

Normal gear have 2.5vrms and mytek supposedly Hifi version has 4.9vrms ? Well this is disappointing. What a shame for such promising DAC but I'm going to have to call quits on this one. Good luck Blaine.

I'm always buying selling new gear so I can't tell I'm going to use with X . And they did the HiFi pre version, why doesn't have the normal output ? Or the guys with the problem are using the mastering version ?

Ok I'm confused, as a non pro guy I want to know if this dac has the output for normal hifi gear ? Reading this last messages it seems not and one has to make weird calculations to know the value and buy cables or resistors for attenuation uh ? What gives.

I know how you feel.. If it makes you feel any good at least you allowed those who are on the fence to do a more informed purchase. Now knowing that it won't work that well with non pro gear I will look some other place.

I'm still waiting for more SQ impressions specially against other dacs before taking the plunge. AS for the SACD market I highly doubt it has 1/5 of the bands I listen to and even with a huge market one would still need the ps3 tricks. But where is said market ?

There are just a few sacds and most of them are from older bands, besides that I need to own a ps3 and do some magic tricks to get it to the computer... So I wouldn't care less about DSD, yeah its a cool future to have but one I won't be using. Thanks for the impressions.

How does it performs against other units like the Lavry DA11 or Benchmark,grace etc..

Is mytek planing to send their unit to any reviewer any time soon or that won't happen ?

So for us audiophiles, leaving the dsd thing alone, how does it sound with the normal CD compared with the other known brands ?
