  1. anyone have tried powering a intel 530 externally ? i have some problem with it... cant detect sometimes, especially when there is a software crash and I need to reboot
  2. because the SSD mostly accept 5V, havent see a 12V though
  3. imo... battery chargers arent the ideal power supply... they are for charging they are as noisy as SMPS... most battery charger has 3.7V battery ... then upconvert to 5V... how good can it be my 2cents just an example of what is inside a battery charger Power-U 5600mAh Portable Battery Charger ReviewBattery analysis and reviews
  4. I thought it was for the macbook... is there a 5v SLA battery in the market? I know there is 6V SLA, but it isn't too safe to power up any DAC, it probably will work, but may shorten the lifespan of the DAC to be safe... try AA rechargeable batts, the only problem u need to charge them after a listening session
  5. for the 4xAA battery 4.8V supply this actually work.. done it, but the problem is the short battery life, I used 8pcs of eneloop, it couldnt last a day for wavelink
  6. is not about the battery inside, it could be the regulation inside such chargers or battery adapter for example the sanyo 5v charger I tried for my usb power, when I measured is ridiculously fluctuating, u do not need oscilloscope just a multimeter will do. til I search, is actually a 3.3v battery inside, boosted to 5v(layman terms), the boost itself generate such fluctuation. hence for the HyperJuice, u wouldn't know until u measure the output of it with load. or how it was constructed.... my guess is as bad as the stock apple adapter those battery chargers are meant for charging gadgets, and some notebooks, is primary role is charging or supply emergency power, manufacturer wouldn't care about noise... the best bet is a SLA battery direct or any battery at safe voltage region
  7. my mac mini driven by 12v lifepo4 11ah battery, it lasted 10 hours playback music and some light internet surfing
  8. the power cable has to be connected to usb port, strictly the ground has to be connected hyperjuice battery, have u tested how noisy is it? I suspect it can be more noisier than any smps. why? i have tried a sanyo eneloop charger, is absolutely not good for any dac. the
  9. is the Apogee Mini-DAC powered by those battery chargers for laptop? if yes, those are very noisy, even much nosier than wallplugs. they may do harm to the dac
  10. can anyone tell me , does the amarra work on snow leopard server?
