  1. Start getting your music from legitimate sources and you wouldn't have this problem. This was never released on SACD.
  2. SACD Decoder version 0.6.5 ASIO version 2.1.2
  3. I've haven't changed my foobar setup for a while since it works for me. Foobar 1.2.9 with Darkone 3.1 skin Windows 7 SP1 64 bit I don't know how to figure out the versions of ASIO and foo_sacd_input, but they were installed in early November 2013.
  4. Have you tried JRiver? It has a 30 day free trial and will be cheaper than a new DAC.
  5. I just set the buffer to 30000 ms and no cutoff or click with the Loki. The Loki does click however every time I manually play a new track, but not necessarily when listening to complete albums.
  6. I don't know if this will be any help, but with the Schiit Loki you go to output->ASIO. Then double click on "ASIO for C Media USB device" and set the latency to 50 ms. You still select foo_dsd_asio for the device output thought. I've never changed the buffer length from the default.
  7. I've seen that thread and all my rips are converted to DFF with the SACD extract program, then to DSF with Korg AudioGate. No it's not obvious all the time. Only on certain SACDs that also have clicks when played on a Sony Blu-ray player through the analog outs. For the record, I'm using the Schiit Loki DSD DAC with foobar setup exactly like they show on their website.
  8. I hear some clicks on certain SACD rips that are converted to DSF. It's not on every rip and sometimes I can hear clicks on one song from an album and not others. It seems to correspond with clicks I heard while playing the same SACDs on a Sony Blu-ray player. I'm just curious, are you using rips from SACDs or downloaded files?
  9. I ripped my Ryan Adams Rock n Roll SACD and the iso plays back without issue in foobar on my Schiit Loki. When I try to convert the stereo files to DFF or DSF with the SACD extract program the first track has 2 minutes of silence and then the rest of the song plays fine. Has anyone else had this problem and/or know a solution?
  10. What's wrong with using the QNAP software? QNAP Turbo NAS Software User Manual Just a reminder to everyone. If you don't have a copy off site you are not really backed up.
  11. No, I was referring to the Synology NAS which is basically a computer and why I said "computer". I use a 3 year old i5 computer myself and have no problems with high res PCM or DSD.
  12. Yes "Supports music streaming from computer, USB speakers, media renderer, AirPlay or Bluetooth devices" USB Speakers and a DAC receive the same digital signal. Here's a list of speakers and DACs as tested by Synology. https://www.synology.com/en-global/support/faq/392 While it might not be perfect, you can't say it doesn't work. My NAS was doing a backup when I tested it, which slows it down considerably since it is not very powerful. I also did not realize you could enable 24 bit audio. So it was trying to downsample while doing the backup. I just enabled 24 bit audio and tested it with a portable DAC I also have. It played 24/88 and 24/96 without issue (DAC doesn't support 192). Is it bitperfect? We have no way of knowing. Do you really think Schiit or Synology is going to test every single possible setup? The DS211J runs the most up to date DSM without issue. Obviously if someone is going to do this they realize a 2-3 year old $200 "computer", which is underpowered to begin with, might not be the best in terms of audio quality.
  13. I don't think you know what you are talking about. The Synology OS has it's own player called Audio Station that will send a digital signal via the NAS's USB ports to USB speakers or a DAC. Audio Station can be controlled by any phone or tablet running the DS Audio app. No other player or computer is needed.
  14. It turns out there is an option in the Audio Station settings to enable 24 bit audio. I already moved my Bifrost back to its usual location and the rest of the family is asleep, so I can't test it right now. On a side note, spend the extra $70 for the Uber analog upgrade. It's well worth the price.
