  1. Just listened to Public Image's Poptones from SACD rip - I can hear background noises I've never heard before - and I've loved that tune since 1988...
  2. I'm probably not your average audiophile punter - as much as I love jazz and classical it's all ALAC rips from CD, nothing above 16/44.1 for me. However I am a huge fan (and producer of) well produced left field dance music and purchase FLACs from Boomkat, Digital-Tunes, Bleep and rip CDs. I have an Apogee Duet and KRK RP8s and a KRK 10" bassbin and I must say the quality playing through Audirvana is astonishing. The stereo field, the realm where the effects truly live is remarkable. Astonishing producers like Untold, Ramadanman and FaltyDl sound so much deeper than iTunes. And Basic Channel - whoaaaaa! It's like being trapped in the CERN tunnel. Outside of dance, Krautrockers like Can, Faust and Popol Vuh are also beefier. Bowie's Ziggy Stardust has it's unique stereo field unmuddied as if I were listening to virgin vinyl on a high end deck. This is one of the most promising open source apps I've ever used. Can't wait to audition my own 24/48 productions on it. Right now I'm happy rediscovering all my faves in such luxurious quality. Thanks!!!!
