Hi; Newbie but quick on the up take as I've only started to get back into serious music listening 3 mos ago. Enough of the excuses, anyhow I've cleared all my drivers on HP s5560f, so that no EQ, replay gain , sound enhancer, sound check. I use both Foobar 2000, and Itunes only because I have an old 5.5 gen 30g Ipod. Now I've downloaded Pink Floyd, Jean Michel Jarre, Herbie Hancock, all vinyl 24/96 flac, and same in cd 16/44 flac. Now this is where it gets wierd, the16/44 sounds stronger, and I looked for any telltale in my whole setup but as far as I know there's nothing going on that I know of . It should be all flat or neutral going to my amp. Am I missing something about the files themselves that a rookie can't see.
