  1. Hi. I tried Audirvana 3.5 and it sounded great but at the moment I am not using my hifi that much so do you know any good free alternative music players on the Mac? Aurdirvana 3.5 is a defo purchase but not at the moment.
  2. Thanks. I have a licence for up to v1.4.x. Do you know if my licence will cover v1.5? Also, where do I download past releases for Mac?
  3. Is it worth going from v1.4 to v3.5 sound quality wise?
  4. I've managed to upgrade my Mac Mini to a more recent model running High Seria. My previous MM was a 2006 model running Snow Leopard. I have licences for Pure Music v1 and Audirvana v1.4, but I have been using Audirvana most of the time as I prefer that. I only playback FLAC nothing else. I just wanted to ask the question is Audirvana still king of the hill when it comes to music playerers? Should I buy v3.5? Is the sound better than v1.4? Thanks.
  5. Hi. Does anyone know where I can get A+ 1.4.9.7.?? My Mac would not boot (It just went to a blue screen with a spinning circle) so I have put a new hard drive in and reinstalled everything. I installed 1.5.12 but the SQ is not on par with 1.4.9.7. If anyone could send the the file or tell me where I can DL it from that would be swell.
  6. Thanks god for that because I thought I would have to image tag all my ALAC's, which would be a total nightmare.
  7. I have been out of the loop for a while. I am currently using 1.4.9.7. I found some of the preceding beta releases to be inferior sound quality wise. So is it worth upgrading to another release from 1.4.9.7.?
  8. I don't have 1.4.6. as a separate download. I updated it through A+.
  9. Hi. I want to try the Beta but keep my 1.4.6. intact. Do I just download the beta directly to my HD, rename it and then install it? Thanks.
  10. Where is the dmg file stored if you auto update? All I know is that it sounds bloody great now compared to last time. I am on snow leopard too!
  11. I have a sneaky suspicion that 1.4.6. has been tweaked by Damien since I last listened to it a few weeks ago. I updated again today from 1.4.5. using the updater within A+ and Mode 1 doesn't sound harsh any more.
  12. Hehe I must have been wrong. Moving the pre-ringing slider doesn't seem to alter the sound without oversampling. I was foxed because after I updated again to 1.4.6. (I downgraded to 1.4.5. a few weeks ago due to harshness) and set the pre-ringing it sounded softer and more pleasant. It must have been all in the mind! I am now trying with oversampling x2 only and pre-ringing set to 0.6. It maybe too stressful for my Mac Mini as its only got 2GB of RAM (modo limit I'm afraid). I will see how it goes. Is oversampling different than upsampling? What are the benefits of oversampling? I think my DAC chip upsamples to 192 anyway. I have never tried oversampling or upsampling from the software ever with my DAC. Cheers.
