  1. I seem to remember someone from Qobuz is monitoring these forums? I don’t know if this is the right place to post this, but the count-in to Taxman is still chopped off on Qobuz. Other streaming services have corrected the error.
  2. I just clicked on the download link and it worked fine.
  3. I sent HDTracks an email letting them know that I would never but anything from them in MQA. In fact, I wrote that I would just order a CD if my only other choice was an MQA album. I hardly ever buy from them anymore anyway because Qobuz usually has better prices.
  4. Is Roon's identification of MQA based solely on a flag? It does identify tracks as MQA even though they don't have the "Master" label on Tidal. I see that my account was automatically upgraded to HiFi Plus. If they do indeed have lossless CD-quality streams in the HiFi tier, will I have to downgrade to access them?
  5. I just noticed that Roon is streaming to Sonos in 24-bit now. Looks like a build Roon pushed back in October enabled this functionality. Everything up to 24/48 now streams in native resolution from Roon to Sonos. Higher resolution tracks are downsampled to 24/48 or 24/44.1. Looks like DSD is being downsample to 24/44.1.
  6. Now in HDtracks, Qobuz, Apple Music, Amazon HD, etc. No announcement, just showed up with no fanfare.
  7. The last several versions of MacOS have allowed an iPhone or iPad to be added as an audio source. You just have plug the iPhone into your Mac with a USB to Lightning cable and then enable it as an audio device in Audio Midi Setup. You can then capture the digital output of the iPhone in GarageBand or a third-party audio app.
  8. Very cool. I'm interested to see what he discovers about the LSB in a 24-bit stream.
  9. I am running an ATV 4K into an HDMI splitter and getting 24/48 PCM, FWIW.
  10. Chris, if you download the album from Apple Music to a Mac, so you are playing back from locally stored files, do you still not get bit perfect playback over USB? If not, something strange is afoot. I do not get bit perfect playback using an iPad through the USB camera connection kit, but this is true for both my own rips and downloaded Apple Music files.
  11. I had to I had to try this for myself. When I change the system-wide audio device to an AirPlay 2 device, "alerts and sound effects" continue to play through they built in speakers, confirmed in Audio MIDI Setup. I was thinking that I would need to do something to prevent email alert notification from interrupting the music, but as long as there are no other open apps with audio output, I assume the signal should remain bit perfect for 16/44.
  12. It still works! Pulled it out of a box in the attic, plugged it in, and it actually joined my network immediately.
  13. Thanks, Chris. I guess I will be digging out my 1st Gen AirPort Express. Pretty sure it still works.
