Looks like Chris has seen and (possibly) heard it in person...according to his Twitter account... So Chris, what's your feedback now that the communication moratorium has been lifted?

I guess I never really thought about the USB port not even transmitting iTunes stream. Guess that answers this in one neat and tidy package! Thanks =) [email protected] agree on the more applicable organs! =)

I'm curious what the thoughts were as to if there would be any quality loss between these two setups... iMac --> AirPlay --> Airport Express --> USB --> Ayre QB-9 Mac Mini --> USB --> Ayre QB-9 As the music is literally being transmitted as 1's and 0's and supposing i have a stable high bandwidth local network my gut tells me there's no major difference other than having the USB cable so close to the outlet... Also would this affect the quality/impact of Amarra output from the iMac if going that route... Guess I'm kinda new at this so go easy on me!

I just bought an Ayre QB-9...it's my first DAC and it's not even here yet...BUT...I've heard it in someone elses system and "I" thought it fantastic in his setup so I'm giving it a shot myself. True, it's limited to USB but then it's also specifically built for USB so you know it's operating to the best of it's ability without any guesswork.
