  1. I understand Darrells frustration here. It is a World Wide Internet Forum problem that many people believe and post instead of posting experiences. For me who am in purchasing mode and looking for comparisons and experiences it’s a problem. With this specific equipment I cannot listen before I order since I am overseas.
  2. This comparison is exactly what I want to see too. The Mach2Music server with battery power against the Bryston. Audiocircle????
  3. I am into the market to find the best possible hard disk based player / computer to send digital files to USB DAC. I see that many prefer or at least select the Mac Mini as it plays well and does not cost a lot. I have been looking at Mach2Music server and register that it cost somewhat more than a plain MacMini. I can accept to pay more if it is sounds better. Since I live in Europe I cannot test it before purchasing (custom issue) and I wish to hear from people who have tested and tried the M2M and compared it to other options. My possible choice is M2M with Snowleopard??, increased RAM and larger SSD. I am also interested in reviews of the Macsandwich EMI & RFI rejecting properties and also the battery powdered solution. Or am I better of with good power cable? The hard disk player will replace my Marantz SA 11 S1 which I had for some years now. I do have expectations for better sound quality since I hear about improvements by using well set up Macs+DAC replacing CD players. PS! One year ago I tried a stock portable Windows based PC with a good USB DAC. The PC was not changed at all and had standard drivers and software. I preferred my old Marantz, but with an upgraded Mac it should be different???
  4. Sorry! I just hoped somebody else knew more than me about the expected DAC.
  5. Dear All My first reply in computer audiophile. Hope it will not be the last. Regarding Lindemann, I believe that the existing USB DAC is not derived from the good and costly CD player. I believe Lindemann is developing a new USBDAC based on the 825 CD player and that it will be available soon. I also believe that the price level for this will be 2-3000 Euro in Europe and that it probably will be a good one. Anyone that knows more? I am in the market for a Mac Mini + an excellent USB DAC. May the new one be worth waiting for? Spec for the CD player: Intelligent signal conditioning and input data standardization Digital data arriving at the inputs is processed before it is passed to the actual D/A converter.
