Thanks for the info, that unit has a lot of aplications at a great price and comes close to what I need but for lack of a way to set a fixed level. did find at rdn.com a line agc amp (rdl-fp-alc2) that may fit. Am still looking for sugestions

thanks for reply, we operate off a dell server win7 2TB raid1 currently the composit video directly to encoder with audio coming off the sound card (came with server) speaker out into encoder,encoder has no audio control and puts out a mpeg2 multiburst, so the only place for audio control would be between server and encoder or with a sound card that has AGC on the output side or?

I operate an automated cable TV station, the video files audio levels are not consistant, the media player is integrated in the scheduling system, remastering the files is not an option. need a hardware or software solution for AGC,that is not a $$$comercial sound card
