  1. Same question. I am thinking this is not possible, but would be very pleased if it was. I don't use library mode either, and it would be nice not to have to go through the extra clicks before I drag my files over to play.
  2. It seems like I used to be able to drag and drop to the Audirvana icon in the dock (MacOs) even if Audirvana was not open and it would open and load the music file automatically. Now I can still drag and drop, but have to have Audirvana open to the "track" page and drag the file into that page.
  3. Problem solved! Damien noticed that the Audirvana volume was set to infinite. I dialed it back to -0.1 and everything is working again. (See setting in lower right corner of screen shot.) Why did that fix it? I don't know, but thanks to Damien for his prompt response and diagnosis!
  4. Just following up on my last post: HQPlayer is not having any trouble accessing my USB Dac Speakers.
  5. I am having trouble with Audirvana (3.3.35) defaulting to internal speakers despite the fact that everything (Apple Sound Preferences; Audio Midi Setup; and Audirvana output preferences recognize and are set to play through my USB Dac. Everything looks good until I hit "play" in Audirvana and then speakers switch to the internal speakers on my iMac. I can play iTunes etc. through USB to my DAC just fine, but if I open Audirvana and hit play, the speaker output selection just switches to internal speakers and there is no sound while Audirvana otherwise appears to be playing (the play bar moves along). Have tried restarting computer and amplifier, checking settings in sound preferences, checked preferences in Audivana. Strangest thing is that this just started happening in the last couple days after years of no problems. (I am not sure if this coincided with update to 3.3.35.)Any thoughts or help?
  6. Seem to have lost the ability to play a folder of music by dragging the folder onto the Audirvana icon in the dock. A+ version 3.5.23 under MacOs 10.15 Catalina. Is this just me? (Seems like this went away once before and then was restored.) Thanks!
  7. My problem seems to have solved itself somehow. Will report back if it reoccurs....
  8. Ok. Have 3.5.3 installed now... still no play queue window. My prior message: Something seems to be broken now. Using 3.4.99.2 [now 3.5.3]. I can load music folders to play in the play queue, but pressing on the play queue icon no longer allows me to see the files I have loaded (the play queue list used to show up where the library listing is). It is "stuck" on the library listing and shows my iTunes contents, but not the files I have manually loaded. Any advice? This function worked in a prior 3.4 beta.
  9. Something seems to be broken now. Using 3.4.99.21. I can load music folders to play in the play queue, but pressing on the play queue icon no longer allows me to see the files I have loaded. It is "stuck" on the library listing and shows my iTunes contents, but not the files I have manually loaded. Any advice? This function worked in a prior 3.4 beta.
  10. I think this is what you are looking for: If you are playing, first stop playback. Then click on the little "speaker" icon at the lower right of the player. You will see a window with your various output options. Click on the arrow > next to the output option you want, and you should be able to find the settings there.
  11. Nevermind... I found the location for the settings... click the little speaker icon, and then you have to scroll down in the window that opens.
  12. I may use A+ different than most folks. Up until this beta, I would just find the file folder of flacs that I wanted to play and just drag the folder from my external hard drive to the A+ icon in the dock - the flacs in the folder would load automatically and start to play. Simple. (I don't maintain a library on A+ and just drag the folders (or individual flac files) as I need them.) When I try that with a folder with the beta, I am getting this error message: "The document “Kenny Wheeler - Deer Wan (1978) [2016_HDTracks 24-192]” could not be opened. Audirvana Plus cannot open files in the “folder” format." When I try to just drag a drop a single flac file, same (failed) result: The document “10 - You've Got To Stand For Something.flac” could not be opened. Audirvana Plus cannot open files in the “FLAC audio” format. If this is true, that may be a deal killer for me. But probably I am just stupid. How do I play folders full of flac files or individual flac files now? Is drag and drop no longer an option. I also tried dragging the folders/files into the play cue window - that still works on the A+ 3, but not the beta, it seems. Please advise. Thanks! I am on a Mac (Mojave 10.14.4).

    Why Roon?

I have a massive collection of high resolution music on external hard drives. I typically just drag and drop what I want to listen to into Audirvana or sometimes HQPlayer. I am happy with this arrangement and certainly the sound quality (your can see me office listening setup in my signature). I signed up for a trial Roon run, but immediately ran into problems (couldn't create a "core", no internet connection, blah, blah, blah....). After writing to Roon support and not receiving any timely response, I cancelled my free trial. Why would anybody want this service? What advantages does it provide to someone like me that listens primarily to hires files from external hard drives? I have more music than I could listen to in the rest of my life on those drives. When I have some interest in more information, I Google it, or look at other sources like All Music Guide, Pitchfork, etc. Who is Roon for? Please advise. I am still willing to be convinced, but dont' see the value yet.
  14. I am going to stick with TaterTots. Maybe with some ketchup.
