I run a pair via LAN, with my MacMini server directly connected from it's primary LAN port, with a second LAN port configured (via a USB-LAN adaptor) which connects to the outside world via a Time Capsule that also provides WiFi access for remote control from my iPhone and iPads. Most recently I've been using the MConnect app for control, it works really well with the LS50W's and provides immediate volume control from the iPhone buttons, even when the screen is off.. so it acts almost identically to a dedicated remote control, except that it's wireless (not infra-red) and MUCH better
