I've run into an issue, and can't seem to find the info I need, so here I am.
I'm running a Mac mini ( ) into a sansui 9090 receiver for audio, and sound for the TV also attached to the mini for streaming internet, etc. I was using the audio mini jack output direct to the receiver for a while, and it was fine.
Now, I've connected a new Valab DAC using the USB ports. It appears to me that once I select the "USB headphone" as the audio output, all control of volume from the mac is lost. This would not be a huge deal for music playback, but is a problem for TV/DVD audio!
That also means that I can't control my music completely from the Ipad/pod with REMOTE either...
Am I missing something, or is that just how it is?
I suspect that I can plug the mini jack back in and switch audio outputs for TV/DVD, and music, but that's one more "thing to do" in order to use the mini for TV etc.
Is there a simple solution?
