  1. Thanks for the replies everyone. I have found over the years that music discovery isost important to me - I no longer buy CD's or even mp3. I subscribe to pandora one and Mog and rhapsody. I really enjoy discovering new music- these services let me relax and listen to whatever I want. As I built these two systems I used only a squeezebox analog out. With each preamp/amplifier and pair of speakers I trailed I heard big differences in sound quality. It looks like I may have pushed it as far as it can go with the quality of the streams as the limiting factor now? Thanks for your advice. I had assumed that a Dac would work some sort of magic. 2. I just finished a few hours worth of a/b comparisons of MOG and Pandora via the coaxial digital input of the DACMagic Plus with my squeezebox touch analog outputs. Simple setup: I have a Bryston B100SST integrated setup with a PMC speaker system and a Plinius 9200 integrated system with vintage modified DQ-10's. I tested both the coaxial out as well as the analog outs of the squeezebox. Because both of my amplifiers are integrated it was simple to place these two sources on two inputs and switch back and forth with the remote controls. I listened to a variety of music over several hours and must have switched back and forth from DACMagic Plus to analog hundreds of times between the two systems. I was not able to discern much of a difference at all. This is my first experience with a standalone DAC. I'm very disappointed and frustrated. I even tried the USB input with my macbook running MOG. At least this way the DACMagic showed a sample rate of 96 vs the 44.1 it shows with the squeezebox. Does this unit not sound good unless the full burn in is done? I was assuming I should hear a difference from the beginning. I have two fairly high end setups and really expected more. Any thoughts? Should I try a different DAC? Should I do the burn in and try again? Is the squeezebox DAC this good? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, aanative
  3. I just ordered the Audioengine D2 Wireless DAC - anyone have any experience? I am trying to send audio from my Mac Pro across the room to my Bryston B100SST. My other option is to drill into the crawl space under my office and send the audio feed via analog RCA's. This would actually be pretty easy to do but the length has me a bit concerned. I would need a total length around 30 feet. Quality cables in the 30 foot range would not be cheap. Does anyone have experience with such long analog runs? My Bryston does not have XLR. Which would be better? 30 foot analog run or wireless DAC? Thanks - i appreciate the comments. Eric
