  1. Hey guys, Thanks for the suggestions My system is mostly up and running -- Pure Music, FabFilter, REW, and M-Audio ProFire 610 (had to go the multiple out route, even though it doesn't sound as fine as other dacs...) Bob, great comments, really helpful! You mention taking the REW info and plugging it into Fabfilter Pro-Q -- how is this done? I can seem to do EQ manually...
  2. Hey Nyal, thanks for the thoughts Any advice on good linear phase XOs (ideally AU plugins to use with Pure Music instead of the built-in XOs)? Also, maybe I'm confused -- I have yet to use REW (mic is in the mail) but doesn't REW export FIR files for room and loudspeaker correction? Or is there a distinction for speaker correction instead of room eq?
  3. Hey Keith, Trinnov looks very nice, but it seems to be a hardware solution similar to DEQX, no? My goal would be to have an entirely digital package. The only hardware (other than a computer) would be dacs, amps and speakers.
  4. Hello all, I've been looking for a digital equivalent of DEQX for some time. I've heard DEQX-based systems and they are, for the most part, amazing. The idea is to have a single computer containing: preamp, eq, crossover and room correction. Is there a complete digital package that competes (and isn't $$$)? It appears Spatial offers a DEQX-like solution using mostly off-the-shelf software (review here: http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/emerald/1.html [1]), but seems to be missing some of the key ingredients. And it's expensive. Is this even doable? My approach thus far is: Measuring: Dayton mic + usb mic preamp (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=390-801 [2]) Playback: Active speakers + sub (or passive speakers with individual amps) Source + preamp: iTunes + Pure Music (http://www.channld.com/puremusic/ [3]) Crossover: Pure Music (albeit lacking DEQX's 300db crossover slopes) + multiple/multichannel USB/Firewire DACs Room Correction + time delay: Room EQ Wizard + Convolver plugin (http://www.hometheatershack.com/roomeq/ [4]) + (http://convolver.sourceforge.net/ [5]) Final EQ tailoring: Fabfilter Pro-Q (http://www.fabfilter.com/products/pro-q.php [6]) Thoughts?
