  1. What's next for Qobuz and Tidal and Roon... My exact concerns. As a Roon + Tidal user, I'm worried that the whole ecosystem will come tumbling down. For Roon, Tidal is the only streaming service available in my country. Music discovery has been great, but I always knew that being tied to a single source streaming service was the weakest link in my Roon subscription. Exciting times! But very worrisome. Cheers, Jay
  2. Hi mansr, My volume issue is not isolated to the iPhone. It's the same for my Windows10 laptop. Goes to the 2nd or 3rd notch before it is too loud :-( Jay
  3. Thanks Dale, I currently use the slider as well. It allows a more fines tuned setting, but still I end up with the volume slider at the very low end with very loud volume. I am tempted to try the iEMatch from iFi to see if it helps with a more usable range of volumes. I just wish one reviewer, out of all the positive reviews for the Dragonfly, would have mentioned the quirks of the volume controls. Emails to Audioquest have returned no help. Thanks. Jay
  4. Hi Folks, I've been using the Dragonfly Black for over a year now. While it is a great amplifier I'm having trouble with the volume levels that it outputs. I use it with my iPhone or PC laptop for travel mostly. The volume level doesn't go past the first notch of the volume indicator of the iPhone before the level gets way too loud. No matter what I try there is no way to get comfortable volume levels, it's either too loud or too low. I use portable folding on-ear or IEM's with the same results for both, too loud. I find there is a very narrow available range for the volume level. After all this time using the amp; am I using the Dragonfly correctly? Are there settings I'm not aware of? Is there any way to better control the volume of the Dragonfly? I though of one solution which is to try the iFi iEMatch to attenuate the volume with a more usable range, would this be a good solution? It seems silly to me that I have to purchase another gadget to get the first one to work properly. Thanks in advance for your help. Jay
  5. LOL, not for reals..... Can't wait to get home and try 1.3. Jay
  6. OMG, I'm so excited.... I think I just pee'd a little. Jay
  7. Hi All, I too am traveling soon and just purchased a DragonFly Black to play with. Any suggestions for an iPhone app that can play hi-res audio? I've already tried the Onkyo player, it's good but the UI not great. Thanks again, Jay
  8. Finally decided to try the Regen! A good budget toy for myself, about what I can afford this time of year, LOL. I know I probably ordered late (#3281) but still hope to get it by Christmas! Go Elves Go!!! Happy listening everyone.
  9. Hi Folks, I need to replace my old Mac Mini (2007), it stopped turning on. I've been without my music library since January, ya...sad, I know. Been waiting for the Mini's slow update. So now that it's finally here, what configuration do you think is good to use as a music server? I was thinking the 2.6ghz model with 16gb of ram, or would getting the 8gb + SSD option be better? Trying not to break the bank with this purchase :-z, would the base model 1.4ghz + max RAM be just fine? I want my music back again!!! Thanks, Jay
  10. +1 for the 24/192 from HDTracks. I have both the stereo and mono versions, the mono really is fantastic!
  11. Thanks Windian. This is great to know. After listening to it for a couple of weeks I love this record. The music is just too good for me to complain about the sound. Jay
  12. Hi All, Anyone get this yet? Some weird notes on HD Tracks, "Please note: Tracks 4, 5, 7, 10, 11 contain elements of 48k tracking, mastered in 96/24.". What does that mean? Thanks, Jay
  13. Hi All, Speaking of old and aging Mac Mini's. I'm faced with replacing my 2007 Mac Mini. Does anyone know what USB3 will mean to any of my DACs. I'm using the MF V-Link192 and I'm getting mixed messages of whether it will work with a newer Macs which have only USB3. Thanks, Jay
