  1. Hi Kal, Can you elaborate on the differences of these 2 in sound character? I'm a bit torn between these 2. I have a sony scd-555es wich is lovely for sacd and dont want a step back in sq. The oppo would clear up a lot of space if it cuts the mustard.
  2. dear lord, it works! ok here are my current asio4all settings ASIO Buffer Size = 512 latency compensation in 32 samples/out 32 samples all options below not activated (hardware buffer, always resample/force wdm) kernel buffer:2 I could have been writing chinese and understood as much I just typed. But are these settings any good? Sound does seem improved allready
  3. thanx for youre help. I think I'm nearly there. Ive got all these things like latency compensation and kernel buffers. Seem's a lot for me to screw up in asio4all. Any hints on what the settings should be? much apreciated so far!
  4. Hi Zorbs and others, thanx for the info. I will get the plugins foor foobar and asio for all and give it a go tonight. There is one thing which strikes me as odd. Foobar offers the V-link as a choice in the output device menu. Are you saying I should not choose this device but instead go for asio4all?
  5. I use a laptop with XP and Foobar. The MF V-link brings it all to my Moon 300D DAC. My question: Do I need ASIO for bit perfect output? Or is this handeled by the driver of the V-link wich appears in Foobar?
  6. Esteemed PC Audiophile's, After lurking here for some time I took the plunge on a simaudio Moon 300D DAC. Very satisfied with the results so far and the comments on this site were very helpfull. I still feel I do not grasp the concept of building a good PC setup to enjoy all current high rez files (up till 192khz). Even after reading up on the FAQ I'm still at a loss. I'm sure you have been asked this a thousand times before but here goes: Setup Moon 300D DAC connected balanced to the GRAAF GM50b, an italian all-tube (EH KT90H), fully balanced integrated amp. Connection by van den Hul's outrageously transparent new 3T the Rock. Speakers are Genese Trio monitors by Triangle assisted by a closed BK sub. This makes for a very revealing experience. Even more so than with the AKG K701. The aim is to play high rez files, even the ones with higher that 96khz. (I got the urge by reading up on the stones imminent arrival on high rez). I have an old laptop (centrine, windows XP) with no spdif connection. I have read up on the halide bridge and MF V-link but they seem to stop at 96khz. So should I try to buy a soundcard ? What else do I need? Thanx in advance for any advice!
