  1. Using any NAS is now easy with our Discover Network Shares function. A single click will reveal all shares available on your network. Then select which share you want to use and your done.
  2. Assuming the G5 has an available 4 pin Molex type power connector and the version of Mac OS you are using is compatible with the NEC D720102GC USB controller chip used on the SOtM card you will be okay. Maybe the Mac faithful on this board might be able to help.
  3. As the distributor of SOtM products in North America I am very concerned about your situation. Please contact me at [email protected] with details. Ray Burnham Auraliti
  4. Found an obscure bug over the weekend and have been working around the clock to fix it. Finally got it sorted out and the revision just made it through final validation. We will be loading updates and testing individual players starting today so we can begin filling back orders. You should have received an email from us regarding this news. Please send an email to info@auraliti so I know which customer you are and can make sure to send you any further updates. Sometimes the address on purchases through Google diverge from the accounts you regularly use.
  5. Hi Luca, Oops, my mistake. Please accept my apology. Line 8 instructions should read: Input Server Address - auraliti-player.local We are working on a file server for the auraliti file players and I must have been reflecting on that. Ray
  6. Hi Luca, Sorry to find you are having trouble with your iPad and the MPaD remote control app. First thing to keep in mind is that apparently you have been successful selecting and playing music files with other remote controls including MPoD running on an iPod and Minion running inside of the Firefox browser. Therefor what you appear to have is a configuration issue with the iPad or MPaD or both. So, let's try to work through this. 1: Please confirm you have the iPad configured to your own WiFi Network. Press the Settings button (Gear Icon) on the iPad. 2: Look at the Wi-Fi connection indicated. This is the second item down under the Settings column. It should say the name of your network. 3: If not, select this Wi-Fi button and then Choose your Network from the options iPad has just made available. 4: If so, then open MPaD and press the gear icon along the top control bar. This opens Settings. 5: Press the MPD Server button. And then select Manual Connection Setup. Note: While it is possible to use the automatic setup that makes use of Bonjour to find the IP address for Auraliti Music Player, located below the Manual Setup button, this will assign the number IP address the PK100 has received from your Router at this time. If you switch the Player off for an extended time the lease for this IP address may expire and your Router may assign a different address. If this occurs MPaD would not connect to the Player and you would then need to redo the auto setup. Therefor we recommend using Manual Setup to take advantage of both zeroconf running on the PK100 and Bonjour services available on all iOS devices. These functions allow use of names for connecting devices on a local network. 6: So, after opening Manual Connection you should be looking at a Panel called Add Connection. 7: name it - auraliti-player 8: Input Server Address - auraliti-server.local (this tells your Router you are looking for a local address, not the internet) 9: There is no Password. We are relying on you having your Router Password protected and besides the file system is Read Only in any case. 10: In the Local Cover Art field input the same URL as above adding as http://auraliti-player.local 11: Then make Filename: Folder.jpg 12: note: This will point MPaD at a cover image placed in the PK100 file system in the Album folder (Standard folder structure is (Artist/Album)*. 13: Do not change any other settings. 14: Now press the blue Save button. 15: You should now have been returned to the Connection Pane. If the connection you've named auraliti-player is not already blue then select it to make it so. 16: Now press the Settings button. You have now returned to the Settings Pane and auraliti-player is your connection. You can now select or deselect which Output you are using. While this is a very small optimization I still recommend using the PK100 with only one Output selected. 17: All other settings are correct as is. You can discover what these are by selecting them. This action will take you to following Panels that explain what they are and allow altering the standard setting. Having said that, for our use, the standard setting is likely what you want. 18: Now press anywhere on the iPad screen other than the Settings Panel to make the Settings pane disappear. 19: You are now returned to the main view and should see album covers appearing for albums you have stored covers for. MPaD will attempt to find the covers of albums for which you have not stored a cover image. This will occur with varying success depending on the popularity or obscurity of the album. 20: Now you can select an album and a small window will pop up that allows selection of the entire alnum or tracks from the album. Also, this window allows you to tell MPaD to try again when an album cover has not appeared. 21: You can also select to view your collection by Artist, Album, Song (not really a great idea with a large collection, but that is just my opinion), Genre and also Browse the files and folders on a connected volume (disk drive, thumb drive or our forthcoming File Server) 22: The other option for finding just the right piece of music using MPaD is the Search function. Start typing a song name, performing artist name, Composer or Title and if that info is someplace in your artist/album meta-data MPaD will find it and show selections that match. 23: From here I suggest selecting and playing music to acclimate with the very intuitive interface that our good friend at katoemba.net has developed for all MPD users. *additional note. The PK100 will play music from any folder structure. So, you can file your (artist/album) music folders inside folders for Genre or Century composed or whatnot and music will still play and MPaD will still find covers. I like to sort music this way so I can find stuff when using our simple web page remote control which views music collections by file structure rather than meta-data.
  7. Hello Luca, As stated in emails sent from three different addresses including my personal Gmail account. The package was sent via Fed Ex Priority at increased expense to expedite delivery to you after the delay in getting the PK100 out to you. I do not want to post the tracking number here for obvious reasons. If you have not received any of my emails or the private message sent via Computer Audiophile please call me as indicated above or send an email to me with a different address and I will reply to that. At this time FedEx tracking indicates the package has cleared customs and is in transit from LONATE POZZOLO IT. I do hope you receive the package soon and can start enjoying the product. Best regards, Ray
  8. Hello Luca, I've sent several emails to you trying to confirm delivery info. Have gone back to older communication and noticed you were using a different email address so have also sent emails to find if that gets through. None of my sends are bouncing back so not sure what is going on. If you are not receiving any of my emails please call us at 001.510.686.3295 so we can discuss. Sorry to put you through this difficulty. Ray
  9. As similarly stated above by Demian in an earlier post, we chose not to enable CIFS (SAMBA) access to USB devices temporarily connected to the player. It is another chunk of software with configuration and security issues to struggle with plus issues around explaining it to users. We are enabling it in the server we are testing now. The storage volumes on the Server are internal and will avoid confusion as to which connected drive one might have meant to load a file too.
  10. The PK100 can play music from volumes connected to USB ports or from a Server connected over Ethernet. Both work very well. To improve things further we will soon be introducing a Server that is very easy for a customer to add and keep running. In addition to this we will have drive enclosure with a SATA filter that avoids adding noise to the USB bus for those customers that prefer this method of storage.<br /> <br />
  11. The BDP-1 and Auraliti are similar because we assisted in the design of Bryston's product. In fact we are credited for the work on the back page of the new BDP-1 brochure.<br /> <br /> The Auraliti PK100 was developed as an alternative to repurposed general use computers like the Mac Mini. The PK100 is cost competitive with using a Mini as part of an audio system and as you state is more accurate to the original recording than is possible the typical laptop or desktop computer. <br /> <br /> The BDP-1 and Auraliti L-1000 take the concept further in different directions and offer unprecedented file playback performance with ease of use.
  12. The Server will use mirrored low speed, low noise hard drives for storage. Capacity at this time will be 2TB of on line storage from two 2TB drives. If a single drive fails the customer will still be able to play music until the failed drive is replaced. Once a drive is replaced the Server will then mirror the content. The system will boot from a small SSD just like the Auraliti file players. Boot from SSD avoids any system related problems if a storage drive should fail. We will provide pre-formatted drives so the process with be mechanical and not software intensive.<br /> <br /> To answer the inevitable question for all fans of storing files on SSD, yes we did extensive listening test and system noise measurements to confirm what Demian and other engineers already know. There should be no audible difference between HDD and SSD in this well isolated sever. You may ask, if Demian already understood this then why did we spin our drives doing this testing? Because I did not know and neither did you so we spent a bunch of time and money confirming what we know you guys want to know.
