Article: Welcome to Computer Audiophile 3.0

Because I am old, I like the 'old' version better - (: I hate change, but I will get used to it. -
Currently I use a Blue Circle Thingee DAC and both the HRT Music Streamer II+ and DAC HD appeal to me as interesting upgrades as well. I would be interested in Chris's thoughts on the two units for sure.

Agreed, Walter is a solid citizen and a huge resource in the business.

Chris,
With respect to the Proton and the Halide, can you give an example as to when you think the Proton would be a better fit over the Halide and vice versa?

Thanks,
Frank

The concept of this product is brilliant. A totally integrated solution - like rock-n-roll, it's plug and play. The fact they have thought about integrating the USB & RCA cables with high grade product is very clever as well it just makes the whole process that much easier to use.

All I can say is very clever and I would certainly recommend to anyone who is venturing into a better way to connect to digital music; the Halide is a no-brainer!

HiFiGuy - The uDac has no power supply aside from it being powered by your USB connection at you computer hence it will work at any voltage anywhere in the world. As they say in the biz, it's Plug and Play mate!

So do yo find the bass with the Wyred to be a problem or do you think it's a good problem?
-
I am curious how the uDac stacks up against the Wavelength Proton. It sounds like a truly value added proposition as it appears most Wyred products seem to be. Thanks

Chris,
Would be interested to know if and when you had the NAD M2 on the list for reviewing. Given that it is a true digital piece of hardware I would be curious to see what Chris thought about it - any room for this product review on your busy schedule? Thanks -
Article: Drobo FS Network Attached Storage (NAS) Review
Frank Mercurio replied to nottlv's topic in Article Comments
Chris, I see that Drobo have some older 4 bay models at near half the cost and was wondering if the functionality was any different to the newer 5 bay models. In terms of cost, do you think the older models are worth consideration? Thanks -
You sell your wife and you won't have an iPad to live in; you'll be out in the iStreet...

Can't you just show it as a digital source on Audiogon? Which version Mini is it?

It appears Apple has added what appears to be their version of high or higher def files: http://mashable.com/2012/02/23/apple-mastered-for-itunes/
