  1. So I have an update. I've recovered sound on the right channel and quite frankly I'm not sure how. But I'm obviously very happy about it. However, Windows 7 still allows me to change the system volume output through the Brick, something that wasn't possible before. Are there any Brick owners here? If you have Windows 7 fully updated/patched, are you able to change your system volume when the Brick is the audio output device? My particulars are Brick v3 and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
  2. I have a Wavelength Brick v3 that has always worked beautifully with my Windows 7 PC. When I first connected the two via USB the drivers automatically installed and everything worked as described on the Wavelength website. The volume on my PC became fixed as Wavelength indicated it would and all was well. Over the past 2 days, I installed a number of Windows updates. The first 2 were non-critical (or recommended/optional). The 3rd was Service Pack 1. I hadn't listened to any audio during the span of those installations, but soon afterwards I noticed a number of problems. First, the right channel is completely gone. Second, the system volume can now be adjusted and there is also a link for "mixer" on the volume control, which was not there before. I tried a number of things. I tried messing around with the Quicktime control panel (as I use iTunes for listening). I must have clicked something incorrectly because now everytime I open it, I get a message asking whether I want to "run a legacy cpl elevated". It does open fine but only after clicking OK to that message. Not sure if that is relevant here. More relevantly, I uninstalled all of the updates from the past few days, including Service Pack 1. Did not fix the problem. Whatever happened is now stuck. I should add that I tried a different USB DAC and that seems to work fine. It seems both Wavelength and my dealer can only be reached by phone so I will try them on Monday. But do any of the computer audio experts here know what might be going on?
