  1. Hi, preload is a no go for me. The entire album is being loaded into memory as per perferences, but then 'plays' the 1st title for less than a second and stops. I doubt it is related to the MSB DAC IV (with up-to-date firmware), as Audirvana works just fine. However, playlist mode is OK. I've tried to delete Amarra 2.4.1 preferences and reboot, without success. Any ideas?

    Amarra 2.3

Amarra is the best sonically ;-) Amarra is the worst ergonomically. Amarra is the worst technically. To maintain their reputation (I’m getting fed up with its everlasting bugs), why don’t they provide their solution as a commercial VST ‘plugin’ that would easily fit with any good players integrated with iTunes e.g. Fidelia?! Another option would be to rewrite the GUI from scratch to make it somewhat lighter... but also in-line with Mac OS X look and feel. So please guys, it’s now 2011: terminal emulator characters and clumsy GUI should belong to the past!
  3. Hi Dj_AmTrax, yes it does! There is an option to split each chapter (Edit -> Splitting -> Split as Chapters), which comes very handy when ripping concert DVD. It thus generates one audio file of your choice per chapter, during one single batch: just click 'convert' & wait. You can then use gapless playback using your favorite audiophile player. Cheers.
  4. As far as I'm concerned, I'm using iSkysoft DVD Ripper for MAC which is dead easy to use! Great quality too!!! http://www.iskysoft.com/dvd-ripper-mac.html In 2 mouse clicks, you can extract directly to .WAV, Apple Lossless, FLAC, AIFF, OGG, MP3, AC3; etc. Sample rate quality can be set up to 48kHz, with the highest quality bit rate as well. Audio formats from the DVD are always properly identified, no hassle. For me, that's a great piece of software.
  5. I just hope they're working hard on it... because the competition is getting very good indeed. Please Sonic Studio, do NOT change the sound signature from 2.1.1 which is very analog and sastisfying... but do rewrite the 'engine'!
  6. Hi, I have the same DAC as Liddown and I've been experiencing the same problems with the full demo version of Fidelia (up to 1.0.5). So instead of paying a fair amount of cash until it is fixed, I've switched to Audirvana, which is just ideal and VERY intuitive in terms of upsampling. But to me, Amarra 2.1.1 in playlist & cache mode remains the best player in terms of musical fidelity... despite too MANY bugs!!!
  7. Hi all, This is my very first POST... to let you know Amarra 2.1.1 really is getting on my nerves! I've paid an awful amount of money for a piece of software that does not behave properly. My fault, I should have tested it more thoroughly. Nevertheless, I must admit (like many of you guys) that sound quality is probably the best - if not the best - of all OS X players I've been experiencing so far: to me, only Fidelia is getting very close, even sometimes better, in terms of qualitative sound reproduction. FYI, I've rapidly given up on Pure Music as I really don't like the sound of it, despite efficient iTunes integration. I've also deserted Decibel for the same reasons... Audirvana is a very fine player and I really hope it gets more integrated with our 'favorite' music library, and that an iPhone/iPad application will be made available soon: I’d be OK to pay for it to recognize Damien’s work and efforts! Back to Amarra: intermittent crashes; only viable sound quality in playlist mode; no hog mode; no gapless playback during iTunes integration (oh dear...); no dynamic upsampling; dodgy memory cache causing unbearable random ‘bips’; heavy GUI; no plug-in extensions; etc. Please, please, please: anybody out there aware of any technical improvements in the VERY near future??? Just to know how and where the product is going. In the meantime, I'm sticking to Fidelia which seem to offer a much greater potential. Should Amarra software be rewritten from scratch? That’s my guess… I feel better now ;-)
