  1. Suggestion. Create sub categories under Music Reviews with different genres, like Classical, Jazz, etc. It will help users to read only the ones they are interested w/o having to scroll through all available reviews.
  2. I tried Hydra-X and I can attest it's a great device especially for the price. And there's a lot of reviews over at head-fi.org, just do a search.
  3. I'd also be much interested in this. Thank you for posting it. Looks like a great design ideas but not much exposure yet.
  4. As promised here are my initial observations of the Conductor 1793 DAC board. I left it running over night, so it has around 10-12 hr only but I can already tell that I like it more than SABRE32. It's very smooth sounding, w/o any roughness or edges. I really like the overall timbre, very natural sounding w/o any ups/downs in the frequency response. Perhaps a bit less kick in the lower bass but it's very articulate and I think it will get better over time as it burns in. So far very happy with the board. I'm also waiting for an upgraded USB replacement board (CM6631A USB receiver module) instead of TENOR to arrive. Will post my impressions on it as well.
  5. I've also briefly tried AP+PP with Burson but it didn't do much for me, I still preferred Hydra. And for me it was major hassle to have so many cables running with AP+PP. As noted, ALWAYS listen before taking anyone's suggestion.
  6. I'm using latest build of Audirvana+ on OSX 10.8.5.
  7. Another happy owner of both HA-160D and now Conductor. I tried it both USB direct and with Hydra-X USB->SPDIF converter and prefer it with Hydra. I also got the 1793 board but it came with a capacitor's leg broken so I'm waiting for a replacement part to solder new cap back in and then I can report my own comparison between SABRE32 and 1793 if you're interested.
  8. Yes, it looks like Apple did change something, b/c it stopped working for me as well. Oh well, will be waiting for a possible fix from Jacob then.
  9. I don't think it's iTunes or OS, I use iTunes 10.6.3 on Lion and has no problem. Have you completed all steps in INITIAL SETUP of the README file and proxy server in particular?
  10. John, If you still interested in having album art displayed for your WAV files in iTunes, you can use coverArt script which you can find here: Jacob Weber It's not that hard to use and all instructions are inside README.txt file. I've been using this script for over 4 years now, great tool! Hope it helps.
  11. I've been using Patrick's power cable (14 Awg Silver plated Power Cable) with my Burson Audio HD-160D for well over a year and couldn't be happier. Nice craftsmanship and sound that doesn't stand in a way of music reproduction. Highly recommended, especially considering the price of $85 for 6 foot with Schuko plug. I think his cables are one of the best bargains you could find in audio cables nowadays.
  12. One of the best are JH16 of JH Audio and Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors, but they are expensive.
  13. Seems like their site was hacked, usual deal nowadays. Give them a day or two to restore/clean up.
