  1. Seems that emailing HDt direct is a complete waste of time. However, contacting HDt via its webform provoked a response within 48hrs: "If you are dissatisfied with the album please choose an alternate album from the site. Let me know which album and I will load it into your account to be downloaded. Sincerely, Graham" Excellent! Worth noting that any reply email should also be sent via HDt's webform.
  2. Yep, a PayPal account and a .com email are sufficient. And the artists still receive their royalties from an HDt sale, whether you're purchasing from the US, UK or UAE.
  3. I guess another email is worth a try. Yes, HDtracks does seem rather "careless", and slack; it's just as well it doesn't make aeroplanes...
  4. In Nov '10, I bought Frampton Comes Alive (FCA) from HDtracks, which was listed/marketed as “96kHz/24bit”. It transpires HDtracks's FCA is actually 48kHz/24bit - Audacity proves it and, indeed, HDtracks now lists FCA as “48kHz/24bit”: https://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file=catalogdetail&valbum_code=HD00731454093026 Last week, Nov 23, I emailed HDtracks customer support, clarifying (politely) the above. To date, no reply. Does anyone have an alternative email for HDtracks, which does elicit the courtesy of a response - Chesky's, perhaps? Thanks.
  5. @ wgscott IIRC, in a previous thread you mentioned that NY lives close to your home. If so, and if it's not too inconvenient, why not write him a note outlining your findings and deliver it to his house? Who knows, he may actually reply; he may even post comments on CA and join 'the cause'? Or not. Still, it's worth a punt? Cheers.
  6. See this CA thread ;-) http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/HD-music-fft-atlas-reference-thread
  7. Some info re 50 Words for Snow's recording tech and the 24/96, from Kate Bush's website: http://www.katebush.com/shop/downloads/50-words-snow-high-resolution-24-bit-download
  8. @ One and a half: "Time just to listen with ears, rather than silly graphs!" Not a case of listening with "ears" or "silly graphs", but trying to ascertain whether or not HDtracks's "audiophile 96kHz/24bit" download is indeed 24bit, 96kHz and audiophile-quality (minimal compression, at least) and, therefore, worth its premium price compared to a regular CD. Some of us have been burned by HDtracks in the past.
  9. For Audacity screenshots, see recent entry in this thread: http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/HD-music-fft-atlas-reference-thread
  10. Is anyone able to post Audacity spectrum and waveform screenshots, please? Thanks.
  11. Charlie Haden Quartet West - Sophisticated Ladies 24/96 Anouar Brahem - The Astounding Eyes Of Rita 16/44.1
  12. Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) - Keep It Hid (16/44.1 ALAC) Great music - When The Night Comes is especially mighty. And an excellent recording: fine separation; vocals sound clear and natural; impressive, powerfull low-end bass - and no compression.
