  1. Works fine for me except loosing "activity monitor" and "little snitch" Both would be nice to have back to check what is still going on in the way of processes and network access.

    VLC question ?

VLC is a straightforward application so there is no risk in installing it. It is pretty handy to have around especially for video files, it plays just about anything. I do not like the recent update and would advise to use version 1.1.9 and not the 2.01 update.
  3. In Pure Music I cannot get 24-96 flac files to play, they are just silent! When I convert them to ALAC they play, but to fast. Any ideas / solutions?
  4. Not many people are using this I reckon?? I have a measuring microphone but not such clicking feature on "Fuzzmeasure" (the software I use) What measuring suite has this feature?
  5. I use the Pure Music crossover in combination with a Focusrite Saffire in a three-way active setup. My question is how to use the "delay" feature, Is this a question of good ears or are there ways to measure something to properly adjust the timing of the different units?

  7. If this could be paired to PureMusic I would be very happy. This has many advantages to me over I-Tunes: It has an elegant interface and no superfluous features like stores, geniuses and the likes! It is just a simple music organiser. But if I read the proposed feature list I fear it will be just as bloated as I-Tunes in a little bit.
  8. It is quite simple: in Pure Music Click on "Prefs" (lower left corner) Click on "Audio Setup" ( bottom center of preferences window) Click on "Audio Plug-ins" (Top Left of Audio Setup Window) Select up to 14 plug-ins the bus you want it on and configure! I use Pro-Q because it has all the features I need, sounds great and looks cool! I tried others like Epure II but it and most others have finicky little buttons that I don't like in a digital setup and sound worse! for me Pro-Q works best
  9. I,m surprised that you got soundflower to work. I got intermittent distortion which appears to be an unresolved bug : ( http://code.google.com/p/soundflower/issues/detail?id=19 ) I therefor was very happy to find "Pure Music" It has the crossover function built in and it accepts audio units.
  10. As a result of this topic I decided to kill spotlight via a shellscript but that has somehow also killed puremusic! I get no more sound via it! edit: I got sound back somehow???? weird glitch I guess
  11. This is a request to generate a hardware list so we can choose our options: So far known to work good on the mac: Griffin Firewave Edirol FA-66 Furthermore I would be interested in a discussion on the various filter characteristics build into "PureMusic" At the moment I am trying to choose between the 24db/oct and 18db/oct options, input and evaluations are welcome!
  12. Great write-up! My two cents: I'm running "puremusic" and its crossover through a modified Griffin Firewave, (essentially a six channel firewire dac) I bought two of these on ebay for something like $20. The Firewave is discontinued and requires some trickery to get working on OS X 10.6.4 but it is not difficult and can still be found on ebay for very little money! Especially the modified version sound terrific even compared to expensive dacs and is a very cheap way to implement digital crossovers on the Mac.
