I have been downloading great concerts from Live Music Archive for quite some time -- some in High Res but haven't been very impressed with the sound quality. But I just recently noticed that some of these supposed high res downloads are actually MP3s. Apparently these are Orbis Vobis files, that are compressed. So I went back and was able to download one of my favorite shows in actual high res (Ryan Adams, Lugwigshafen, 10.15.06) -- and wow, great sound. This one had the option to "Download whole folder," which I used and it worked well.
in looking over other downloads on this site, many other high res downloads don't have the "Download Whole Folder" option and just allow downloading an OGG Vorbis compressed version. But they do also list individual flac24 files. Can anyone tell me how to get a high res download in such cases? When I click on the individual song fac24s, it opens in Quicktime, and seems to be just for streaming.
I would think there would be an easy way to download entire folders on the Live Music Archive site -- I must be missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And check out the Ryan Adams Ludwigshafen 24 bit download if you're at all interested in his music (great songs, great band, great recording)!
