  1. I was really interested in trying this software about 6 months ago. I went onto the manufacturer's website and found out that I would need to uninstall any existing JRMC and dbpoweramp installations before I could try out this software. That is unaccepatable in my opinion. If I decide I don't like sonata I don't want to have to re install two pieces of software and reconfigure them again. Is this requirement still in effect?
  2. I'm sorry if I didn't mention it but I am not running from a laptop I'm running this from a desktop computer. As an update. I've found no way to eliminate the noise. I've purchased a separate USB 2.0 card to use just for hooking up the USB and I will see how that works. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
  3. The documentation for the USBridge specifically recommends not using any kind of hubs between the computer and the USBridge. Maybe this is just a recommendation and I can ignore it but I assume they have it there for a reason. From the documentation "The USB Input must be connected directly to the USB interface of a coomputer. Function can be disrupted when a USB hub is in the connection line"
  4. I have no idea how to "cut the power from the USB port at the receiving end and replacing it with +5V from a standalone power supply" How do I accomplish this?
  5. I wasn't sure where to post this so I decided to start here. I have just received the following setup. I've put it all together and it sounds really good. Audez'e LCD-2 Burson Headphone Amp 160 MHDT Labs Paradisea 3 Non Over Sampling Tube DAC MHDT Labs USBridge USB to SPDIF converter source = Dell XPS via usb. J River software via ASIO WHat i'm hearing that I don't like is a constant buzzing in the background. Low in level but always noticeable. Also, whenever I move my mouse, which is also connected via usb, I hear the similar buzzing but at a higher level. The background buzzing changes sound and sometimes sounds like muffled clicks. I've never heard any of these sounds from this computer when playing music through my creative labs soundcard to my speakers. I'm think the problem might be my computer. What options do I have to fix this so I get dead quiet backgrounds?
  6. I don't see where Music Player Daemon runs on windows.
  7. I doubt itunes, or any of the desktop media managers out there were designed for anything close to 500,000 entries. You need to look at getting a relational database setup for that amount of data. Hire a real programer who can put that stuff into a database like SQL or Oracle. Quality programer's can setup queries and indexes that will reduce times from mintues/hours to seconds. You will then need to get a front end created to access the database. There might be software out there that does this already but it won't be cheap.
  8. I'm just getting the following setup to use with my windows 7 64 bit computer as a source. I have quite a few high resolution files I will be playing using the USB output of my computer into this setup. All of my files are in FLAC format. Audez'e LCD-2 with ALO Audio CU RW8 Chain Mail Cable Burson Headphone Amp 160 MHDT Labs Paradisea 3 Non Over Sampling Tube DAC MHDT Labs USBridge USB to SPDIF converter I'm assuming I will need to: Download and install the drivers for the USBridge onto my pc. Download and install some music playing software. Which one? foobar, J River? mediamonkey? My question is: What do I need to do to setup my windows 7 computer to utilize this setup with the highest quality? and I'd really like to use a simple media playing software and not something that has tons of features I will never use like foobar, JRiver etc. I will ONLY be using this software to play back my files on my desktop. Not as a server, music manager, ripper, video streamer etc. What is the best simplest software out there? Quality is really what I want with good ease of use. Is something like J River media jukebox an option?
  9. Thanks for all the help. That did it.
  10. Is there anyone that can help me with this?
  11. that's exactly the help I am looking for. How do I open that folder?
  12. screen shot of dvd audio extractor
  13. I've tried DVD audio extractor and couldn't get it to work. Do you have steps on how to rip these types of DVD's with that program? Or somewhere online where the steps are specified?
  14. I've tried DVD Decryptor but couldn't figure it out. Is there a process that works with DVDAExplorer? Have you tried ripping these discs with that program? Do you have steps to rip this specifc disc with DVDAExplorer?
  15. The disc I am trying is Mixtures I: A classical Surround Sampler On the back it says: Group 1 MLP 5.1 "Audience" Group 2 PCM 2.0 "Stereo" Group 3 Dolby 5.1 " Audience" Group 4 DTS 5.1 "Stage" Featuring" New 96 KHz/24 Bit Recordings Alternate 5.1 CHannel Mixes Stereo 96 KHz/24 Bit PCM Mix Compatible with DVD-Audio/Video Maybe "MIX" means the stereo and other tracks are "mixed" from the surround tracks and aren't real stereo. I'm just really confused by these discs.
