  1. Not even one message from iTunes in Console when tryin...
  2. I also have many others album in 24/96 sample rate and also dvd-audio and all play fine in iTunes. The strange thing it's that the files in question play without problems in other applications sych as Decibel. It's certainly a problem of iTunes rather than of my rip.
  3. Neither restarting or reopening work... I've also deleted the album ripped from the cd but nothing to do. I've reconverted the files from alac to aiff again and iTunes imported them finally! BUT they don't play... In any case using Decibel script "Play with decibel" works. I'm quite disappointed because it's my "Dark Side of the Moon" vinyl and I wish to hear it played through the new dac. Anyway thank you for the replies.
  4. I've tried the add to library menu command, same thing of the other ways. I've tagged the files with Max before importing, I've not compiled all the tag fields but I don't think this could be the problem. The inly possible cause I could think at it's that I already have the same album in the library ripped from the cd, although I've imported the vinyl files with another album name...
  5. Hi everybody, I'm trying to import in iTunes some 96khz 24bit aiff files, ripped from a vinyl disc, but seems there is no way to add them to the library. When I open them with iTunes or simply drag them in the application nothing happens... I've tried to convert the files in other formats like wav or alac with Max but without results. The strange thing it's that QuickTime and Decibel play the files without problem. Does anyone already had this problem? There is any solution?
  6. Very useful comment, I'm listening to the differences between the mac and the audio interface. I'm also evaluating if I should buy a Dac or a better audio interface (I use it for recording), I'll keep in mind the models you have indicated, thank you.
  7. Thank you very much for your answer, maybe I've just made the wrong question. Since I've always listened to music from my cd player and I can't find detailed specs of the NAD I wasn't sure if it has a digital input or not. Now that I'm sure that I can use the same cable I'll just evaluate the better system...
  8. Hi everyone! I've just moved my hifi system in my computer room in order to listen to my digital music (for the most part Apple lossless file ripped from cd) now I'm wondering which is the best way to connect the iMac to the amplifier (a NAD C325). I already have an external audio usb interface which can handle 24/48khz sample rate but it has only one 3.5mm jack out (not optical). What are the best solutions for my system? Should I just connect the jack-rca cable from the audio interface to the amplifier aux input or should I use the optical audio out of the iMac whose integrated Dac can play also 24/96 audio but, I suppose, has a worse quality than the one of the external audio card? And in this case what type of cable should I use? does exist a s/pdif toslink-rca cable?
