I wanted to share with everyone a couple of amazing albums. First off is the album "EP". Beautiful music. Featuring Piano, Bass and Drums the songs are extremely well recorded and I feel as if I am there when listening to their music. My favorite would be "The Wind Cries Mary". While you might think that you can't redo the Hendrix classic, the Hazelrigg Brothers do an amazing job bringing the song to life. Head over to Blue Coast Records and listen for yourself. The album can be found here. The other songs are just amazing also. On their second album "Songs We Like" the brothers play some of their favorite songs. As in the EP release there are Piano, Bass and Drums. The albums starts off with a great Jethro Tull cover "Living in the Past". The 3 track is a cover of Jimi Hendrix's If 6 were 9. I just love it. The second to last song is a cover of The Police's "Spirits in a Material World". This is my favorite on the album as I have always been a huge fan of the Police. Highly Recommended. I just bought tickets to see Tony Furtado for the third time (Feb 1, 2019). So, before I go I thought I would listen to one of my favorite albums, Blue Coast's Special event 30. You can find it here: On the album you can hear Tony play his Chello Banjo beautifully. His songs are fun and the recording is wonderful. What I want to focus on is the last song, "I ain't got no Home". In concert it was the last song that Tony played. He came to the front of the stage with his Chello Banjo, the drummer brought one drum, the bass player brought his bass and the fiddler came with his fiddle. With no microphones (Swallow Hill seats 300) they played the song as a sing-a-long. I can vividly remember singing this song and it was incredible. The audience was thrilled. Back to Special event 30. Although not a sing-a-long I do it in my head while listening and once again have the same experience. It is one of my favorite Blue Coast songs. If you haven't ever heard it I highly recommend checking it out. Looking forward to seeing you soon Tony BTW: The DSD128 version of Special Event 30 sounds as if you are there. As always Cookie Marenco does a great job capturing the music.

We missed Cookie Marenco at this Year's RMAF. While I was bust setting up on Oct. 5th, Cookie was in the studio recording Meghan Andrews, his Bass guitarist Marco Ferrero and guest Larry Mitchell for three songs that are a delight. At 2016 RMAF Meghan did a FlashJam in the Peachtree audio room that was amazing. They had just met Larry Mitchell and they invited him along to play. What resulted was simply amazing. With this year's release, entitled "Sneak Peak", Meghan sings a cover of "Don't come around here no more" by Tom Petty, "I Can't Give Everything Away" by David Bowie and "Strange and Beautiful" by Aqualung. All three are excellent and the addition of Larry adds a beautiful Electric Guitar tp the mix. I highly recommend Check out her album Here.

I won't disagree with you. I was just trying to group into 4 sections so that you could see where the Drs fall. 80% of my music fall between 8 and 13.

Part of the difference is the type of music that we own. Some music is recorded much better than others. It just depends.

If you looked at 1-10 and 11-20 I bet you results would be much closer to mine. Dave

I have no classical or Country. They are all Rock, Jazz or Blues. BTW: The DR values of the Albums in my collection are an average of the DR of the songs of each album. Not necessarily easy to do in JRiver. Dave

Redbook is 16/44. Hi-Res is anything that is 24 Bit, i.e. 24/96 or 24/192.

After reading your article on DR analysis I wanted to see what my collection looked like. I set up a field in JRiver to show DR results and went about testing about 4200 CDs. What I did different was to break down the difference between Redbook, Hi-Res PCM and Hi-Res DSD. I have also analyzed just the releases I have from Blue Coast Records. I have been listening to Fiona Joy's "Into the Mist" from Blue Coast Records lately. Beautiful music and extremely well recorded. I highly recommend. Dave

Sorry, I didn't compare up sampled DSD64 to DSD128. I am pretty sure that JRiver does not upsample DSD64 to DSD128 if you choose that option. I typically don't upsample anything. Thanks for the compliment on my sneakers. I love them. Dave
