  1. Hi sauerball, I assume you are German, aren't you? If not not problem. Maybe I am to stupid, but going forward and backward via forum takes me too long. Are you on skype? I yes and you are willing for an experience exchange, please let me know, how to contact you via skype. My id is: st.woltering
  2. Thanks Sauerball, I am looking for Sample Size not Sample Rate. The 1st of oyur screenshots shows that: Sample Size: 16bit, I don't see that at all and I dont see that in your 2nd screenshot as an column option
  3. Does anyone have a recommendation on software / pugin to remote control my iTunes (techn spec see signature) and my front row with Bang & Olufsen remote beo 4. Please let me know source any price range if not freeware?
  4. What is the best Firewire 800 Cable to choose between my iMac (Tech Spec see signature) and the new RME Fireface 400 I am expecting soon :-) Or is the whole discussion obsolete, because it does not make a difference in sound quality? Thanks for any recommendation incl. sourcing info and price level.
  5. .... but I dont know how to find out the prper Sample Size in iTunes. I used file properties by using right click - no information, I used column options in itunes - no info. I cant find it anywhere. Can anyone help me with that. The other thing: I heard there are many hidden functions in Mac-OSX and itunes? Anything of interest for audiophile like me? Which and how to activate them? Kind regards and thanks to anyone giving my answers.
  6. Are there any people arround with experiences in Thomas Rogoff equipment? They write: The Epoq IAD-A1 model (a dual mono block design) includes a high-end DAC with a 10V output, one of the highest outputs in the industry. This model also has a very special attenuator, used to adjust the volume, instead of a conventional volume control. It makes for a reliable and noise-free control stage.
  7. Hi everybody, I am new here. I want to upgrade my current system, because I am unhappy with the sound quality, I want to bring the to professional level: I am using: iMac 27“ Intel Core i5 2,66 GHz, 4 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 with Mac OSX 10.6.5 Snow Leopard with One FireWire 800 port; 7 watts Itunes 10.1.1 From what I have read about audiophile, the highest level to achieve in audio quality is with a firewire DAC. for example with Channel D – Pure Music Software (interfaces with itunes User Interface) Firewire/S/PDIF converter 24/192 with a DAC (please recommend a cable and a DAC for me) or Firewire 800 direct at DAC RME Fireface 800 24/192 or comparable (dont need that many channels) - iPod/iPhone connect via USB 2.0 would be nice -Ethernet RJ-45 for streaming audio/video and firmware updates - UPnP - Digital I/O's like co-axial, S/PDIF, optical i/O, - analog I/O's, eg. Line-Out to connect analog standard Stereo Devices (e.g. Stereo Hifi system) - Headphone output Who can help me with a configuration, shopping list and recommendations? Stephan
