  1. Well, if you are a critical listener and you did get a boost from using a 10 gauge ground wire to ER then you will enjoy Shunyatas range of CGC ground cables to the ER. The Sigma CGC has arrived and the fun thing is that it was a big difference up from the CGS10 ground wire. Shunyata Sigma CGC wire is Cu outer shell with an Ag central core just like Shunyatas newer v2 reference power cables.
  2. Ok, I put a Shunyata Sigma CGC (Ag/Cu) 8 gauge ground cable on the Uptone Etherregen and connected it to a Denali 6000T groundterminal. I put the previous Shunyata CGS10 10 guage cable on the chinese clock. What happened is that it unleashed Bass Power AND fidelity, more reality and presence of the sound. So as for an impact point of view, the two Shunyata GND cables was a bigger difference than the chinese clock itself. But the chinese clock did bring a soundstage coherence front to back which in synergy with the impact and presence boost of the two ground cables provided a substantial reality boost to the sound. For the outlay in the grand scheme of things (total system cost) it was a fantastic bang for the buck.
  3. Larry is great! Looking forward to delivery of the new 300W PSU! :D
  4. I actually have an Ifi IpowerX 12V on the Uptone Etherregen now and it was an improvement actually from the HDPLEX 200W I used previously IMHO and much cheaper. I'm awaiting the new HDPLEX 300W and will do a comparison then. The chinese 4G 10MHz clock is here and I think that this actually seem in some way benefit my whole setup. I can't really explain it but it is like something is bringing coherence with perfect timing to both video and audio... I will put it on my new HDPLEX 300W when I receive it as well. Right now a 200W HDPLEX is running most of the network stuff. I'm also awaiting a Shunyata CGC Sigma grounding cable for the ER and will then put the older Shunyata CGS10 cable on the chinese clock. Also the Shunyata Alpha clock v2 75Ohm is coming sometime. Right now using a frankenstein 75Ohm Neutrik RCA coax into BNC adapters. I'm guessing the comparison to Shunyata Alpha v2 clock 75Ohm wont' be fair. ;-)
  5. I have the etherregen connected to HDPLEX200W (soon to be 300W) and a Shunyata CGS10 cable (Soon to be Sigma V2 CGC cable) from etherregen to Denali GND post. This improved the sound in my setup considerably, like a strong foundation in the sound. The grounding is paramount IMHO. It will be interesting to see how it improves with the Sigma CGC V2 (VTX-Ag) and yes there is an Omega CGC cable as well, I think it might have a TAP module which seems to be missing on the Sigma CGC v2. I'm still waiting for my placeholder 4G clock (squarewave OXCO) and Shunyata V2 Alpha clock 75Ohm to make their entrance.
  6. I have had a number of these in the system. I do however suggest IFI specifying/getting a much fainter LED light. These light up the room like christmas (Home theater). They are so strong that they even glow green through the sides of the AC purifier unit. Apart from this that should be addressed they do seem to do good things. But I wonder, do they have anything that possibly could limit instantaneous current draw when used in higher numbers in the systems? Any TMOVS or capacitors or anything that could act as a choke?
  7. I'll answer my own question. I switched to my Mytek libery dac and there i had no problem setting 24/384kHz in windows 10 build 1809 audio output to let windows audio mixer perform at my DAC PC chains highest level. Don't know why the iFi micro iDSD stayed at 24/192kHz windows audio output..
  8. Thanks for clearing that up iFi. Can I set windows 10 to output 384kHz so that the windows volume mixer always runs in 384kHz mode instead of 192kHz mode??
  9. Hello AMP, is that impedance spec for the headphones written in stone? Not accepting lower impedance almost make me feel the headphone output is an afterthought but actually the initial reason for me looking at the product. I enjoy low impedance headphones, they may need some amps but hey, electricity is cheap. ?
  10. Hi, I have the micro iDSD currently and it has an 8x DAC mode. How do I set the Windows 10 standard audio output to 32bit/384kHz? Is it even possible? I do remember seeing something higher than 32bit/192kHz once in windows 10 when I think the proper ifi drivers were not installed yet. But since I installed the current iFi drivers it only show 32/192 max. What is possible and howto achieve this?
  11. Greetings, I'm a bit puzzled. iFi micro DSD I installed first the 5.30 FW and it often seemed to be in 8x mode (Yellow LED). Also when I'm just running it without exclusive access in TIDAL client on windows. The soundquality was spectacular with my newly installed JCAT USB Femto board. I run Bit-Perfect on the micro DSD. So I install the newest 5.3C FW and it seems to have the same behaviour with yellow light often on even though you are not running MQA material in tidal, just regular PCM. But here in 5.3C the sonic signature seemed to change. 1. I also see a FW note regarding GTO filter has been added on the minimum phase slot. 2. I run Bit-Perfect switch/slot but I also read FW note saying that if the device runs MQA (8x mode) it will default to GTO filter regardless what setting is on the micro DSD switches. My question is with 5.3C FW if I see the yellow LED light(8x) which seems to be on more occassions than running MQA flagged material, do this new GTO filter always run regardless of my switch preference setting to Bit-Perfect?
  12. Greetings ifi! I require 12V/1.8A and ordered the ipower 12V/1.8A from my local well-equipped store. But on the box it says to my amazement 12V/1.1A! I asked the store to open it and check the wall-wart. Lo and behold it still said 12V/1.1A. What is going on here? Website: Input: 100-240VAC Output: 5V/2.5A; 9V/2.0A; 12V/1.8A; 15V/1.2A
  13. Just wanted to verify with ifi that inserting the DC ipurifier into a chain consisting of a 12V/8A (HD-PLEX PSU) with an end device rated for 12V/3A (36W) (the HD-PLEX LPSU replaced an SMPS rated for 12V/3A) is that ok?

Thanks, I've started to taste the sweet TIDAL MQA juice and I'm impressed with just the software decoding in the Tidal desktop app. An iDSD Pro with hardware MQA would be hard to resist for me.

Hello iFi, now that Warner releases is officially on the MQA train and Tidal is releasing their Masters section of 30.000 songs in hires MQA. Are you soon officially on the MQA train for true end to end DAC compensated MQA in iFi products and iDSD pro?
