Dear All I have a long flight coming up tomorrow and would like to grab download of Barber of Seville for my iPod (with Etymotic ER4S and a Ray Samuels headphone amp). At the same time, I would prefer to get something that also sounds good on my home system. I have seen a 16/44 version on HDTracks - are there any better options available (both in terms of SQ and performance? Ideally, I would like to get this today.

The 10 Must Have CD's/Album's in any music collection

Maybe it's just me but I actually think Back in Black (remaster) sounds fabulous on a good system. For really heavy and intense metal albums, City, and Alien by Strapping Young Lad are one heck of a ride - a couple of those albums where I listen right through and never want to skip a single song. Addicted by Devin Townsend, who is the main guy from Strapping, is also fabulous, more melodic and less intense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPFbdLIqFkA&feature=player_detailpage Other favourites: Unforgettable Fire - U2 For Your Pleasure - Roxy Music (Avalon is also great) Bat Chain Puller - Captain Beefheart (a bit more accessible than the (lo fi) masterpiece Trout Mask Replica) A Love Supreme - John Coltrane Mingus Ah Um - Charles Mingus Coming up close: A retrospective - Til Tuesday Bachelor No 2 - Aimee Mann Blackwater Park (melodic modern extreme metal) - Opeth Tonight's the Night - Neil Young
