  1. I'm on a DAC1 with a TEAC PD-H500C as transport connected to an integrated Primare i30 to Elac FS187 AE. I haven't been totally pleased with the output levels on the XLRs. So I tried setting the jumpers to the 0dB position. At first it seemed like a good idea - the first track on a random album I played sounded really great. This was because it was only reverbed vocals at the beginning. When the drums, base and guitars came into the picture I really could have sweared my speakers would be lost forever. The signal peaked and if it hadn't been for the relatively low signal going out from my integrated amp, those beautiful Elac's would only have been a distant memory by now. I quickly turned the signal off hoping for the best - and to my relief they were ok when I checked with various high-treble songs. So - just wanted to give you guys who are planning on doing the same a head's-up. Be careful! You could end up with bad electronics...
