  1. I think the new version of Audirvana is absolutely superb and the fact you can now have an integrated album collection with artwork is definitely a substantial upgrade on previous versions. I've tried all of the current crop of music programs for the Mac and for me personally this is the best of the bunch. easy to use superb sound quality, what more to say. I imported 60,000 flac and AIFF files tagged and such in itunes and can say only around 60 songs had any tagging errors, all album art showed without a problem. You can alter Metadata very easily with Audirvana 2.0 very highly recommended in comparison to Amarra Symphony IRC I cannot say there is much in it on my system.

    HQ Player

I've downloaded the trial software version for evaluation, although it seems promising I find the interface and 30min time restriction a little of putting at the moment, I personally feel a month trial with no 30 mins time limits would be better. Also when the program closes down it doesn't seem to hold anything in memory? Library wise?. Also when importing a library I can only see one album on the full screen mode. Sound seems good but having to restart and upload fresh music every 30 mins is a bit of a pain.
  3. Can I ask if possible where do you download HQ Player from please and how much does it cost to purchase if you like it after the trial?. Thanks Think I've found it now myself apologies.
  4. I have an old G5 on the IBM platform and was wondering if there were any audiophile software program's that can be used on old systems like this?. I realise Amarra and Audirvana don't work on them now, but I read a couple of years ago that Sonic Studio were going o do a version for older platforms but I don't think this has happened? Any help appreciated.
  5. I have as follows Same Cambridge Audio DACMAGIC the current Azur model, which can accept incoming sample rates up to 96 I have two computers 1.the Current Macbook Pro 2.4ghz 64 bit and an old Packard Bell ( 5 years old ) my dilemma is similar When I connect the Macbook pro via either optical sp/dif or USB to the DAC it shows a maximum incoming sample rate of 44.1?? this is when I use either Amarra 2.1.1 or Foobar ( computer is dual boot running windows 7 on another partition for foobar only ) it says in Midi either 16 bit USB and 24 bit Optical but will not go any higher than 44.1 on the dac when I connect the Packard bell ( an old dated computer ) and run foobar it automatically shoes as 48 on the dac??, I find this confusing to be honest as I thought the macbook would do that!!, I havent upscaled prefs in asio unclicked upscaling 44 - 48 whats happening and how can I get the pro to run at 48 via the dac Edwina
  6. im new to computer audio and have a couple of questions about these softwares as follows please I have installed both as demo's to try out 1, When you play Amarra using the Cache switched on via Itunes why does it only load one track at a time into cache Memory??, when you import an album via playlist it adds the full album into cache?. using the itunes it plays a track after adding to cache then adds the next track into cache, plays it and so on, I cant understand when using Amarra/cache enabled via itunes and clicking the play full album option in itunes it doesnt add the full album in cache straight away 2. also using Pure Music I can add flacs via the window it copies the file into the same folder as the flac as a reference, but when I click the file it shows as playing but no sound comes from my macbook pro, why cant I hear anything please?, ive done all it says in the manual ie, highlighting memory Play?? thanks the Amarra one is the main question really I have the current macbook pro with 4gb ram Edwina
