  1. Just in the past few days, I've developed quite a love for Fidelia. The FHX crossfeed has helped to eliminate the headaches that I often experience when listening to headphones. Good stuff - This might be primary player for now, at least until other players allow for integration of crossfeed.
  2. Hi guys, I was just wondering if someone would be able to clear something up for me? I'm just comparing Amarra and Amarra Hifi via this website, and it says that Amarra Hifi does not have Cache mode while Amarra does. Does Amarra Hifi 2.4.1 now have Cache mode, or am I mistaken? Is Cache Mode the same as Preloading tracks?
  3. Burr-Brown Japan PCM2702 chipset works with Integer Mode on Audirvana+
  4. I'm just wondering if Audirvana+ has a Hard Limit feature similar to the one that Amarra 2.4 has?
  5. I've just come across a bug that's potentially related to BitPerfect. I've noticed that after I use BitPerfect with my onboard sound (earphones plugged straight into the Macbook Pro's headphone jack), once I stop/disable BitPerfect, the left and right channels show different levels of volume - one will end up being quieter than the other. I have to go into Midi setup to readjust the volume levels as equal. Anyone else had this problem? I'm running a Macbook Pro Mid-2010, Mac OSX Lion, 10.7.4. Cheers!
  6. I use Bitperfect. It's cheap, it works seamlessly with iTunes, and it does all that I need it to do.
  7. "6. Last.fm track scrobbling support - this would be awesome, i have had no scobbles the last month as its not supported . If people dont use this tool they should, take as much advantage of the fact you are playing music on a PC, detailed statistics and tailored recommendations based on what you listen to." Hear, hear!
  8. "Why the devil would apple decide to provide inferior different USB ports on the same machine? Considering what Apple charges for their computers, I would think each sold would be uniform and have gthe latest setups through out????" I know. I'm finding it to be absolutely ridiculous that my 300 dollar Asus EEE PC netbook can utilise the DAC perfectly, while my exorbitantly priced Macbook Pro pants and stutters. It's incredibly irritating.
  9. So I've just tried using a powered USB hub, and there is little to no discernable difference. This is extremely irritating. I'm about to give up, I think.
  10. Hey Elf, Yes, I have tried the DAC with multiple computers, and it appears to work fine. It works perfectly on my father's Toshiba Satellite laptop, when I play it through Foobar and Wasapi.
  11. My system profiler shows my USB devices like this... http://i.imgur.com/krVtB.png The DAC (the Burr Brown), as you can see, is at 12 Mb/sec, while the Memory Card Reader and the Built-in iSight are the only devices at up to 480 Mb/sec. This is really strange.
  12. Hi guys, So I've just tested my USB DAC/AMP on a Windows PC. The sound was crystal clear - not a click to be heard - the problem must lie with my Macbook, and I'm beginning to think it's a USB power problem. I know that the Macbook has problems with the USB ports (rear port is considered inferior), but regardless of what port I use, I still encounter the problems; I will say though, the crackling occurs MORE when I use the rear port than it does when I use the front port. Does anyone think it would be possible that a powered USB hub would fix the problem?
  13. Sorry, when I asked about Last.fm support, I didn't mean streaming - I was curious if it would eventually support scrobbling. Sorry for the ambiguity!
  14. Ayrewave appears to take total command of my Audio Midi screen, disallowing me to change any of the settings. It also changes 16/48 to 16/44, and changes my DAC to a 1 channel 16bit as opposed to 2 channel 16bit. Is this normal? Here's a screenshot incase it's unclear as to what I'm describing; http://i.imgur.com/o9xIS.jpg
  15. Hey, thanks for the reply. I've tried several cables - I also went out and bought a new one - but it didn't appear to make any difference. I've now made sure that I reboot iTunes when changing the setting to 16/48. Like I said, it happens less frequently now, but it still happens every now and then. It's certainly better, just not perfect. What are some other things that you folks do to make sure that you're getting the absolute best quality out of your USB system? Maybe I'm missing something when I set up my system/turn on my Macbook? Are there any settings that you routinely check or amend? Thanks!
