I am new to the forum. Reading the forum over the past couple of nights, I am pleased to see a group of serious, knowledgeable people.
My situation involves interconnectivity with Blu-Ray players. Current Blu-Ray players with network connectivity will not play WMA Lossless files. My Samsung BD-C6500 does not, and further checks with LG, Panasonic and Sony confirm the same. Several will, however, playback WAV files.
Current Situation:
- I have approximately 900 CDs ripped via WMP in WMA Lossless format.
- My library is organized in a single file folder titled 'Files - Music'. Subfolders are organized by artist, and sub-subfolders are organized by album title. I have what I believe to be a robust disaster recovery system.
- Album artwork is saved as a separate JPEG file in each album sub-subfolder.
- All tracks contain full metadata information which was crafted / completed / downloaded thru WMP and subsequently written to each track file.
- Operating System - Windows 7 Ultimate
- WMP 12
My Objectives:
- Convert all tracks to WAV in a separate file system.
- Test and validate the new file systems, including validation of metadata transfer.
- Delete the old WMA Lossless file system.
- Continue to use WMP.
Can someone recommend a solution and workflow to achieve these objectives?
