  1. I've been doing some research and the new apple TV upscales the 44.1k of my aiff to 48k.... maybe in the way noise appears during that.... got to try with airport express to see if there's a difference...
  2. it is strange because it's not in the same time of the musics and mostly at the beginning and if i restart no longer there... but it's more noticeable while ripping through itunes, but in xld does the same, wherever i use xld secure or not... the factor in common in all is I use itunes to stream, but with cd i used too and no noise... it's the same as well using wireless or wired...
  3. well.. the problem seems to be not every time present, but in xld files it is less times present, i need to restart the music and it seems to clear those sounds... why?? btw..the best ripping for xld is cdparanoia or xld secure?
  4. I made more tests....with the same cd and music.. Cleaned the cable tips... same thing Ripped with xld on a macbook to aiff.... same... tried apple lossless... same... then I thought if it was jitter it should also appear while streaming the cd from the macs.. guess what .. no noise... I think it is the ripping part.. but tried itunes aiff, apple lossless and xld in different drives... or the reading from the hard drives.. but how?
  5. It's a Van den Hul optic cable with 1metre... not too long... Does AppleTV produces jitter? I've noticed when streaming that it sends at same time for optic and hdmi...dunno
  6. First of all I would like to thank you for all the knowledge in this forum!! I've started to copy all my cds into an iMac using iTunes. I've used the AIFF format with check errors options with the iMac cdplayer. So far so good. Then I use iTunes and Airplay to stream the AIFF files over ethernet cat6 cables (router:timecapsule) to AppleTV2. So far so good too! Apple TV is connected to digital stereo amp, in the case a Lyngdorf, through optic cable. The music plays no falls, everything ok, except for the annoying fact that in some musics I hear some fine noise, just like a plastic bag folding, but very very low... but it's there... When I play the cd in a dedicated cdplayer connected to the amp, the same music is very silent, no noise... I've disconnected the HDMI cable of the apple TV, just in case, but same thing.. What could it be? The amp and speakers no.. Could it be the converting with the cdplayer of the imac? Is it the apple TV? Dunno... can anyone help! BTW... this is over the topic software but dunno...
