I own a 7.2 surround sound system and am looking for some help in explaining to me what is available for uncompressed, hi-def music files. I own an Onkyo 708 receiver and run 3 series B&W speakers. From what I understand, I can run a separate hard drive off of my pc (Windows 7), store files on the hard drive, use an iPod for the controls and run music to my stereo. Could someone tell me the basics? What is the cheapest way to do this? Would it be worth it for 49 year old ears? Happy New Year and many thanks to those who reach out!
