  1. Now trying the 1.3.9.3 in my setup (OS-X 10.6.8 and Weiss Minerva via firewire) the sample rate switching does not work well. It works randomly, perhaps I can see a pattern that switching to a higher sample rate often works but switching to a lower on does not work. //Stefan
  2. I have now tried with direct mode. When playing 24/96 track I got a distortion starting quite low but after a while increasing. The sample rate switching is also a little bit unstable often I have to try twice before it works. I am using Snow Leopard and the DAC is Weiss Minerva. //Stefan
  3. Thank all for your response. It at least good to now that I am not alone with the problem. The sad thing is that they never ever seems to get a stable product. Introducing new bugs in every new "bug fix". I have not got any response from their support so not only a buggy product also a not so good support. Interesting that they still can exist on the market ... //Stefan
  4. I must say that in my system Amarra has the best SQ, but the bugs and phenomens are new with every new release... When now evaluating Amarra Hifi & Amarra 2.4 i got a phenomen that when playing AIFF files i got silence for a couple of seconds the last ten seconds of a track. When playing Apple Loseless it does not happens. And with Amarra 2.4 it only happens in non cache mode. Has anyone else realized the same problem ? (I have contacted the support, but no reply) I am using a MacBook Pro (4 GB) with OSX 10.6.8, iTunes 10. Connected to a Weiss Minerva over firewire. //Stefan
  5. For me this happens quite more often, in average after one hour. //stefan
  6. dabears999, sorry no solution, but I have the same problem. //Stefan
  7. I reinstalled the Weiss FW driver, and the problem seems to gone! //Stefan
  8. The message in the display is: Initializing audio device ... And then its hangs there for very long. If I then try to select another track in the playlist I can get: Initializing audio device OSError=veda br Stefan
  9. When I use Audirvana with my Weiss Minerva. I got very often the initializing error problem. Its often happens when I have played the last songs in playlist, or even if I stop and then starts playing again. It seems to happens more often for every new version. nb it never happend in the free Audirvana. br Stefan Sweden

    Amarra 2.3

Dear Amarra team! Stop this with 3 different models. Reduce to one and price it fairly. Perhaps your only way to manage your quality problems! //Stefan

    Amarra 2.3

This hitches, i think, is caused by a timing error (between Itunes and Amarra), this was very obvious in the 2.1 version, when you cached highres files (because they are large and takes time to load). After an issue request they made it less obvious in 2.2 and even in 2.3. But they never fixed it!! And I think its little bit of a shame to asking for this amount of license fee with this kind of never solved issues. And I guess its because of that this is an error caused of the architecture with 2 running sound engines (Itunes + Amarra). I still wonder what kind of Quality MAnagement Process they have, allowing to release to the market this kind of never solved issues... Although they are very nice people with very helpful support. //Stefan Sweden
  12. Hi, I have a Weiss Minerva DAC, and I have set Audirvana to use Integer mode. But it looks like the app still use float. I have enclosed the debug info. Thanks! 13. "I was not experiencing any of the issues you guys talked about until I went 64bits. Songs starts and stutters for the first few seconds before full playback" This problem with starts and stuters is reported to Sonic Studio. But I have not got any feedback from them. It is very obvious with big files in memory play still with Itunes i.e without Playlist. //Stefan Gustafsson
  14. For me it is the opposite it doesnt work correct in 1.65a but works fine now in 1.7. A work around for me in 1.65a was to disable Hybrid Memory Play. BR Stefan
  15. To clearify. The glitch after 3-4 secs of play with cache enabled only occurs when I manage the tracks from Itunes. Not when playing thru a playlist. It seems to be some kind of timing problem between amarra and itunes, //Stefan
