  1. Why different project rates, i.e. 96 and 44.1 kHz if only the gain setting is changed? Rgds.
  2. In order to benefit from an external clock the unit in question must have been designed for such usage. dCS units are designed for such usage. I had for about six months a Debussy unit in my system for review (Fidelity.no). I own three units of the scarlatti stack (i.e clock/upsampler/dac) and fed the clock signal to the Debussy. A small improvement was apparent - but very far from being dramatical. I assume that for most Debussy users such a clock will be overkill. Rgds.
  3. Sometimes expectations are not met. The other day I downloaded some samples from a small US company. They were all of good technical quality and at least one of the artists - american folk style - was interesting to me so I decided to download the complete album. The files came - as the samples - in uncompressed format (wav). After installing the tracks I started listening and became disappointed. The quality of the download was far from the quality of the samples. An audacity analysis follows. The first frequency chart shows the sample and the second the standard album. This is not what I expect when buying music. Rgds.
