1. Hello, I just purchased this last week. It is my first audiophile DAC and listening with B&W P5. It sounds wonderful. A few questions. 1. I am thinking of purchasing Sennheiser HD600 for home use. Are these a good match? Would this DAC be able to drive the HifiMan HE 400 (considering since they are the same price. What about HD650? 2. If I decide to get a external headphone AMP would using the analogue out into a something like a Burson Audio HA-160 work? Is it overkill or due to the single ended out cause audio degradation? Somewhat new so appreciate the help!
2. Hi ted_b Thank you. Unfortunately the store was sold out when you click through. Also not willing to pay $129 on ebay.
3. Hi wgscott, any idea where I can get my hands on the DVD-A of Workingman's Dead? Been searching the internet and can't seem to find it. Thank you!
4. So, can we get 24/96 from an iOS device?
5. http://www.bgr.com/2011/02/21/new-macbook-pro-models-imminent-weve-got-some-new-details/ "We have been told by one our Apple sources that the new MacBook Pro laptops will be available for sale in the next two weeks, and Apple stores are set to start receiving the shipments in “the coming days.” As far as what the refreshed MacBook Pros will hold, our source mentioned a few interesting features. For starters, we are told that the new laptops will contain glass trackpads that are even larger than the pads found on current-generation MacBook Pro models. The next bit of information doesn’t quite make sense to us, but we have been told the OS on the laptops will be loaded to a separate (internal) 8-16GB SSD while everything else will remain on the regular hard drive. There will be options for just SSD drives but the base models will feature regular hard disks with the SSD combo for the OS. Our source also said that the new MacBook Pro models are about a half-pound lighter on average than each of their relative current models, and there will be five different SKUs as had been previously reported. Thanks, Lindsey S.!"
6. Hello All, I have been in contact with Dan, the developer of Flac Player for iOS iPhones. His program allows for onboarding of 24/96 FLAC files however we know hardware limits to 16/48. I asked him about 24/96 output via Digital USB out and thought it might be possible. I have been keenly interested with the new Algorhythm Solo portable USB Asynch for my commute: http://www.aloaudio.com/algorhythm-solo/ Below is my email with Dan from FLAC Player (here is the App Link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flac-player/id390532592?mt=8) I asked him for permission to post and he stated " I'd be happy to contribute and see what can be done." Any contributions? Original response edited from Dan: " Long story short It looks like the 96KHz is possible but the 24bit hasn't been confirmed...Here's what I can say though - FLAC Player decodes flac at full quality. So if you have a 24-bit/96KHz file it will be decoded at 24/96 and handed off to the iOS audio system...
7. Hi All, I just read the review of the HRT Streamer PRO in February Stereophile. They gave it a very good review for the price. They stated that the differences between the Benchmark DAC1 USB in sound "were musically minimal enough that for under $1000 I would easily choose the PRO for a system that could take advantage of the balanced output". Anyone else have the same experience?
8. Thank you Elberoth...So the rdac PSU is external?

Based on your prior post its well worth the ~$200 upgragde? Would there be a DAC better or equal to the rdac + Teddy package at the ~$650 price?
9. I am newer to this board. Not sure how this upgrade by passes the Arcam rdac. It looks like it just plugs into where the power cord would go? If so how does the internal power supply get by passed? If not do you have to open up the rdac?

Thank you!!!
10. Hi All, Has anyone compared the arcam rdac to the HRT II+? While I know there is a $100 delta there are some many positive reviews of HRT II+ and very little of the rDac (besides this site). My question is which one is better for USB 24/96 asynchronous conversion? Any help would be greatly appreciated...
11. Thank you for the great help so far. I am still researching. I currently have a rotel 1062 integrated amp which I will use for to plug the DAC into to run to my speakers. Anyone with knowledge of the 1062 and a good matching USB DAC for ~$1k?
12. Thank you all for the help! I am thinking about getting something along the line of a Benchmark USB DAC1. Assuming if I go this route USB should only be used? Anything else I should consider besides the DAC1?
13. Hello, new to the forum. Research ways of migrating over to a computer based system as I have started downloading higher resolution audio (24/96). I have been reading allot about the use of USB to DAC's and have not read much about using digital optical out such as the one one my macbook pro. What is the reason? Is it inferior to USB? Why? Thank you for the help!
