  1. Sorry for the delay, my Parasound is the HALO Integrated, exactly the one in your photo.
  2. I haven't had the chance of listening to the LS50's so I can't comment or compare them with the Kairos. One thing I can say is that this is not the first pair of cabinets we've made. I fully understand that when someone starts the DIY route many mistakes are to be made and that was our case for sure, but some years ago. CNC machines were used, so I guess they are identical twins (good or bad, but identical ). The front baffle is not easy BTW. Some photos of the pair in process and finished plus one of the back of my small room. (Tube boxes "diffusers" are something that you can laugh about of course, but I like the way they look).
  3. Wow, I'm really happy and grateful for all the time devoted to my help request. I am using Audirvana+ BTW. The room is kind of small and I listen from a short distance I understand the concern of some you related to both the room treatment and the amps quality. The room I'm almost sure is not an issue. The amp, well it is what it is, and there is nothing I can do about it right now. The Kairos are really good to my ears and I can live, listening near-field, without the deepest bass notes. I guess I will have to concentrate my efforts on the quality of the files and the DAC for now. Thanks !!!
  4. Thanks to all! Well, it seems that for the budget I have, the DAC would be the only way to go for now. I am not using the one that comes with the Halo amp. The amp had really nice reviews (stereophile, etc) but to change it now is out of my reach. In the future, to get rid of the Mini, the options are what, a streamer? I've found that having my music in the Mini is a major plus in terms of the instant access to my collection. I will check the suggestions for the DAC.
  5. Yes, the room is well treated with some diffusers, bass traps and, to my ears, is not the “weak link”. Thanks for the advise anyway because is usually forgotten.
  6. Hello and thanks in advance. For my small and simple system, please give me your best ideas for an upgrade with a max budget of $1,200. The system: Mac mini with original power cord. Parasound Halo integrated Meridian Explorer 2 Kairo DIY monitors Thanks again!!
  7. Agree, clean and beautiful!!. I solved my "dust and cat" problem with this:
  8. Alaric.H: beautiful setup, congratulations!. My older daughter went to the university in Richmond and I used to visit her once a year, not any more, so I guess I missed my chance to beg you for an audition!!. Santiago
  9. Thanks! Here we have to use what is around us, as you may know.
  10. Thanks moussaobeid! I am enjoying it on a daily basis.
  11. Hello, Once happened to me that the Mac mini sound preferences somehow switched to "Internal Speakers". Santiago
  12. Hello from Cali, Colombia, SouthAmerica. Just some photos of my "AUDIOFFICE". These days I work from home about 50% of my time. At the same time I am just starting to learn and play with computer audio so I decided to setup my small system right in my small office (14FTx11FT). The wood base use to be part of avery ancient tree that was struck by a lightning. MacMini and a Parasound Integrated (plus Meridian explorer2 for MQA). DIY Kairos stand mounted loudspeakers. I am enjoying this new "era" of computer audio and trying to learn as much as possible, so a lot of questions will for sure be happening . Ah! And the weird tube-difusser was just an idea to use a bunch of tubes I have around. It is better than the bare wall and looks kind of cool ( I guess...). And yes, everybody thinks I am a little bit crazy, of course!.
