  1. Some reading on the subject. Why is neutral conncted to ground in the fuse box/panel? - Home Improvement | DSLReports Forums Why do you have to bond the neutral and the ground wire in the main panel? | ES Grounding Solutions | Electrical Grounding Questions and Answers Blog
  2. Chris, your neutral is tied to your ground buss at the main panel, so if you have a neutral going to your subpanel, it's grounded at the main as well as your subpanel. Grounds are always bonded to the neutral at main panel only, any subpanel after that its isolated. FYI
  3. Thats the way I look at things. The sound is dependent on room,Speaker location(I've changed the sound with NOTABLE differece by changing speaker location),Equipment and Quality of the recording. I used to biamp with 2 cary v12's using nordost red dawn for the lower cabinet of my speakers and nordost blue heaven for the m/t cabinet and now use canare 4s11 and can't hear any difference. There for sale if anyone's interested. BTW amp stands and fuses that change sound unless the stand is for a turntable are funny also.
  4. Some interesting reads no matter which sie you fall. http://www.audioholics.com/education/cables/top-ten-signs-an-audio-cable-vendor-is-selling-you-snake-oil http://www.passlabs.com/pdfs/articles/spkrcabl.pdf http://www.roger-russell.com/wire.htm
  5. The audioquest you bought is a reasonable price for peace of mind. Some people just go crazy for no reason and I believe waste their money.
  6. If it was me buying,I would make sure it's solidly built and not crazy priced and just listen to the music.
  7. Thats all well and good but will be seen as errors. So it will either pass or it won't. Sounds like alot of people are getting ripped off with high priced cables and like it. Maybe the bits look more round and with fuller bass.
  8. Genius is more often found in a cracked pot than in a whole one. P.S. USB gives no sound
  9. Since it transfers in data packets, It doesn't care if the copper has one 9 or 25 9's of purity. It either will pass data or it won't, so waste your money if you want, i'll be spending mine on downloads.
  10. Lots of favorite songs so it's hard to pick one. Favorite web streaming of holiday music is SKY.FM, tells previous artists and currently playing ones also. Merry Christmas Russe41
  11. Okay, I'm settled with jriver & streamer II+ and love the sound through my Mac 352, von schweikert vr4 hse's. I'm ready to take the plunge with hd tracks, with what download i'm not sure. My question is how do I download and make sure it goes to the correct place, downloaded some free 24/96k files and still can't find them. not real computer savvy, more of a vinyl sacd reel to reel guy and i'm pecking my way through this computer audio world which seems more complicated than it needs to be.Excited to go but a little tentative. If anyone could give step by step instructions how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Have desktop HP computer and wanted to know what the minimum requirments are for using this to feed usb dac to preamp. I plan to use external hard drive and jriver software. Not sure what dac I will use but at a minimum it would be music streamer atleast to get started, maybe a wavelength proton if I can swing it so I won't need to swap out so soon. Any advice welcome, I'm very green to this but have been into 2 channel for 30yrs or so. Thanks, Russ
