  1. Thanks for the update. btw, where are you in terms of Ethernet XE? thanks.
  2. Yes, I share the feeling. As you understood I was mostly making fun of my own impatience.
  3. Audiophiles are an impatient bunch! it just goes to show that specialized forums are a double edged sword. It’s easy to reach passionate people always looking for the latest way to improve their system. But once the buzz is generated, delivery can cause a bit of frustration. The way we behave is in fact no different than my 8 years old daughter... cheers, bernard
  4. Hi Marcin, Were the cards shipped as planned? Thank you. regards, bernard
  5. Has someone compared the Gaia to a Mutec MC-3+USB with external high end clock (such as the Cybershaft OP21A-D)? Thank you. Cheers, Bernard
  6. Hi Steve, I understand what you are saying. I was first also under the assumption that there would be no need to ground the EtheRegen and Cybershaft clock since they were both connected to the Everest through their respective LPS (inputs provided by Shunyata on audioshark forum). But I wasn't quite impressed by the sound quality compared to what I was getting till then with my Melco + LPS without any clock. So I tried grounding both and the sound got improved significantly in my set up. I am unable to explain why it's the case, but it was pretty clearcut. As of today, I feel that the EteRegen set up is now a bit superior to the Melco, but it's probably close and my current feeling is that, in my environment, it's probably simpler and cheaper to just deploy a Melco with Uptone LPS instead of an expensive clock to drive the EtheRegen in a super optimized environment. My opinion is still not final though because I am probably not fully out of burn in, and memory can be deceiving. I'll continue to listen to my list of reference recordings to confirm this opinion. Cheers, Bernard
  7. Guys, just one quick feedback about the importance of proper grounding for Cybershaft super clocks. I am using a top of the line OP21A-D to drive my EtheRegen. The sound went from "not bad but not great either" to "my god, this is the best I have heard anywhere whatever the price" after grounding the Cybershaft to my common ground reference (a Shunyata Everest). I just couldn't believe my ear. It almost feels as if the Cybershaft were not properly clocking the EtheRegen in my system without being grounded. I don't quite understand why this would be case, unless some current loops occur that strongly impact the clocking signal. I guess it may be the case. This may result from the EtheRegen itself being grounded to the Everest, I have not done more tests without EtheRegen grounding. I use Shunyata Sigma grounding cables btw, not that I think that the type of grounding cable has a major impact (but it may have some), a Shunyata Sigma clock cable too. Cheers, Bernard
  8. - I personally would very much like the next gen EtheRegen to continue to have a connector for an external clock. There is just no way an internal clock can reach the level of accuracy/noise control afforded by a top of the range external clocks. No issue to have a better internal one of course. - I think that better thermal control thanks to a larger unit would be most welcome for sure. - Due to a specific issue faced by my Devialet, I would prefer to stick to 100 Mbps. - More visual confirmation about the clock mode being engaged (internal/external) thanks to a led would be welcome. Cheers, Bernard
