You mean send music to different zones by having different libraries? Or something else?

OK i know what you mean now, my only pain is that the SONOS option is an expensive route ! I was hoping to find a much more economical way of doing this. I'm not actually bothered about having Zones, i am happy to have the same music for all rooms.

i like that idea but the house is a new build with a lot of metal in the walls i fear Wireless is going to be a nightmare, so i have had CAT5 installed in each room Thinking about it that way i only need a device in each room to receive the audio and send it to the speakers ! if only there were such a thing as ethernet speakers !!!

Can any one help or point me in the right direction. I want to use my iMac as the Audio device to distribute audio to multi rooms. Has anyone done this or got any ideas how to do it ? I'm a complete newbie at this. The iMac has a digital audio out, i'm presuming I will need some kind of distribution device behind the iMac before sending to all speakers. any help would be great
