  1. I found the correction. There is now a new streaming quality category of master. Click that and everything works fine. It would have been nice if they had told us about this change!
  2. I went onto Tidal this evening and recordings listed as Master recordings were not loading that way. The Master indicator on the lower right of the file screen stayed on HiFi and the MQA blue light didn't come on upon my Mytek Brooklyn. I checked all my settings in the setup area of the program (which was working correctly 2 days ago) and they were correct. I also checked my other computer which has the app and MQA wasn't loading there either. I sent a note to Tidal about the problem. If you are having the same problem please do the same. Thanks.
  3. Just a note for those that like to try before they buy Tidal has the "Complete 1961 Alhambra Performances" all 33 tracks and 2:31 minutes of them (including alternate takes and 1 studio take. The label listed as "Jazz Musts" and it sounds fantastic. Seems like a deal since a whole month's Tidal membership $5 less than the single DSD download.
  4. Interestingly I believe that Sinatra's "Come Fly With Me" is only available in mono. When I got my copy the Album picture shown had stereo on it but it was mono. My copy came from from Prostudiomasters, which now lists the stereo as being unavailable. Acoustic sounds doesn't say what any of their versions are other than the stereo album picture of one of the two 24/196 versions. And the DSD looks like the mono picture too. What gives with the stereo recording, was the master damaged? This album came out in1958 and was I believe Sinatra's 2nd stereo recording.
  5. Why does there seem to be this brick wall between the consumer (us) and the record company and/ or artist? Maybe if we could establish some level of direct communication to the people that do have the power to change what we are getting (Beck Hansen?, Capitol-Universal Music Group) we could get true value for our HD download dollar. Chris why don't you start by finding out who can be contacted or petitioned either at the record companies ( there are only 3 majors left) or the artist themselves through their management. How about a request form that we could send to list what we need ie. "use less compression". I don't think that their end knows what we want. And even if we are a niche group they did seem to come through for vinyl, also a niche group. I hate paying a premium price for crap. Speaking of premium why can't all the manufacturers provide liner notes. Vinyl gets them. After all this is a premium product we are paying premium prices for.
  6. Where are the listings as to if the albums include liner notes (booklets)? I really feel at the prices we are paying for downloads all should have this included. You don't see vinyl releases without notes (and sometimes other extras). Send HD Tracks a note on their feedback area-I did.
  7. For the premium price we pay for HD tracks downloads we ought to get the booklet that came with the cd. The Grammy notes initiative seems as presented to be more towards single track downloads or streams than whole albums. In HD Tracks very few current albums from the non classical areas allow you to download single tracks. If we could do that than we could test the track to see if the album is worth the high price. (PS I tunes give you credit for already downloaded tracks if you get the whole album. When people buy audiophile vinyl they get the notes plus a beautiful large graphic format and all that for not much more than a 24/192 download. Lastly I want to know the creative people involved in making an album both technical and artistic as this often will help me decide what music I want to get in the future. How about including some session videos if available? This does nothing but add to the value of your purchase and while you may not look at the notes more than once you can always delete the PDF.
