  1. I was quite happy with the sound of the Bryston BCD-1, then I played it through the Bryston BDA-1 and the sound improved a bit. Then, I heard the BCD-1 through a Neko D-100 Mk2 DAC and, WOW, the sound improved DRAMATICALLY! A lot more musical and a lot less listening fatigue caused by glare and digititis. I immediately sold my BDA-1 and bought a Neko DAC. I can now listen to my favourite CDs and my Sooloos system for hours and still want more. This has got to be the most musical digital combination I have ever heard and the closest digital set up to a very good analog (turntable) setup. The BCD-1 / Neko combo sound beats many $10,000 + CD players that I have heard, for sheer musicality and closeness to the live performance.
  2. Thanks a lot Mr. Booth and kudos on writing such a brilliant piece of software.
  3. A few questions for S Booth if I may: - What's the difference between the regular and purchased version of Decible? - If I purchase Decibel will I be able to use it on multiple computers in my home or on just one computer. If it is the latter, can I transfer it to a new computer if I update my computer? - If I purchase Decibel will future versions be free to download or will there be a cost to it? - If my computer crashes and I have to erase/reformat my hard drive, will I have to purchase Decible again? Thanks in advance for clarifying these issues.
  4. Here are my name suggestion entries: 1) AlphaBit / Accubit / BitPerfect 2) PlayEar / PlaEar 3) Museic (pronounced 'music') 4) DACmate / Soulmate / Playmate / PlayPal / MusiChum 5) ReaLive / DigiLive Five themes, some with variations on the same theme
  5. "Am I the only person for whom AyreWaves fails to advance at the end of each song? This in hog mode/ memory play with a ULN-8." Yea, me too. Today for some reason AW was not advancing after tracks intermittently. Sometimes it would play a few track a and stop sometimes it would only play one. I'm not sure why this happened now. I was doing some other things on tha computor so maybe something to to with memory. Hitting the resume button would get it to play the next track. I also use hog mode and memory play. I'm facing the same problem too. The little speaker icon moves to the next song but the 'just played' song repeats and the title/artist at the top also displays the information of the song being repeated. All my tracks are stored in the 1 TB drive of my iMac. It's happening more and more often now and is getting to be quite annoying.
  6. That is a pity, because if it were possible, it would be the best of both worlds and would make AyreWave a natural choice over Amarra and PM, which would ensure its success commercially.
  7. After spending months rating my 27,000 tracks, putting them into playlists and generally organizing them in iTunes, exactly the way I like them, it is hard to choose AyreWave and watch all that work go down the drain! I would dearly love to see the final AyreWave use exactly the iTunes UI like Amarra does, even if it means a marginal compromise in sound quality.
  8. AW is a great piece of software. I'd suggest adding a column to display the bit-rate and an option to get the software to adjust the volume of all the tracks so that one does not need to adjust the volume for each track or be taken by surprise by an extra loud track that could damage the speakers.
