    HQ Player

Hi Miska... Thanks for the swift response ! I will give it a try. Here is screen shot of the LH Control Panel. It indicates the sample rate is 11.2 mhz. which I take the DAC is capable of handling up to 11.2mhz? Now if you look at the main window of HQP, it still says 5.6mhz. Not sure if its a display issue or a true sample rate being played? My understanding is that if you have 11.2 mhz file and if your DAC is capable of playing 11.2mhz sample rate, with the Direct SDM enable, it should play 11.2mhz as it is without any conversion, right? Thanks!

Just downloaded 3.11.0. Cosed-Form filter sounds awesome. I do find one strange thing. My DAC (Geeek Pulse Infinity + LPS) is capable of playing DSD256 and I have set the SDM limit to 11289600. Before I play anything, the bit rate in HQP main window maxes out at 5644800. Not sure if anyone else has encountered this. Here are the screen shots: Any idea as to what is going on? TIA
  7. Had trouble with my Hapi playing DSD due to incorrect buffer size in Ravenna ASIO Setting. Resolved with the help from Merging. Played all of these tracks using Pyramix DAW. Sample Rate set to 2.8mhz -> Grimm-64 was good to hear... but when I switched to Horus-64, it was better. Sample Rate set to 5.6mhz -> Horus-128 was even better much more dynamic sounding.. instruments were clear Sample rate set to 11.2 mhz -> Horus-256 was clearly the best. More spatial. Instruments were very clear and music more lively. Did not realize that Horus-256 could be this good.
  8. Just seeing this.. Have HAPI with AD8P/DA8P cards. Will test it out this evening

Yes.. that is true.. you need to add that attribute. That is what I did and I was able to play DSD natively.

It looks like the same symptom that I encountered with my Merging Hapi trying to play DSD in native. Here are the steps that Jussi suggested to fix the issue: 1) Use "Export settings" in File-menu to export settings XML somewhere 2) Open this exported file with Notepad 3) Search for XML-element that begins with "<asio " and inside that element look if there's already attribute "pdm_div", if there is, modify the value to number 1 (default is 8), if not add the attribute and value "pdm_div=1" 4) Save this settings XML with a different filename as .xml 5) Use "Import settings" in File-menu to import the settings XML 6) Restart HQPlayer 7) Try to play DSD 8) If the player crashes at this point, then the problem is something else... In case of crash, you can restart the player and import the original settings file I hope that Jussi is okay with sharing these steps.. Please note that these steps were suggested for my specific dac. Not sure if it will fix your issue. Its worth a try.. If it doesn't work, you can always load back the original xml file. Regards Vinod
  11. wow... that is some extreme measure.. I thought the SD card sounded awesome.. will be interesting to try that..
  12. Hi Alex, I have followed your tweaks on A+ using SD Card and ended up good results myself. I tried up sampling of PCM (16/44.1khz) using the settings (Poly-Sinc-Shrt + TPDF) and it sounds incredible. I'm curious to try other filters and dither settings. The one I use is Merging Hapi with premium cards. What do you have selected for "Sample Rate" (in PCM Defulat) and "Bit Rate" for SDM Default for 16/44.1khz material? Thanks Vinod
  13. Hi Alex, Recently acquired HQ Player.. Have you tried playing DSD material? Would you be willing to share rest of the HQ Player settings? Thanks Vinod

    Izotope SRC

Hi DreamOperator.. my apologies for the delay and thanks for your setup. I did try them today and they are very close to what I had ( everything is same except the Pre-ringing was set to 0.71 on mine vs .86) and they sound very transparent.. It looks like the small change in pre-ringing is making difference? The max sample rate on my was set to 176.8 (multiples of 2).
