Hi I dowloaded Steve Earle, from Hd Tracks the other day and I am having touble trying to load it onto Amarra, its 24/192, By the time I load the third song on it just freezes,and says Amarra not responding, tried connacting HD tracks that not happing at the moment very slow to respond at present.Any Ideas? Thanks Chris you got me googling, found this programe from a site, that explain your option two, from how I understand it by loading this programe on your Pc, it will see Mac drives plug into it!It has a five day trial, i will give it a shot and let you know if it works!solve a lot of problem if it does. Thanks Chris I thought about this after I posted, why do thumb drives work on both windows and Mac but not the bigger storage drives? I will look into option two, I am guessing that means networking the Mac to the Pc?

Hi Had a look could'nt find any recent post on how this is done, I want to rip on my pc using a 2tb external hard drive,I have a external drive that is designed to run 1x via CD_Brake, this will only work on windows,so my plan is to then copy the ripped AIFF files on to my Mac external drive and kept a copy of flac on another drive , I just found out that a hard drive has to be formatted for either Mac or Window, then I read that you can partician your drive, can you format both sides is this possible win/mac os?or is there a easy way of doing this!This is all new to me, am I going about this the hard way?I hope this makes sense! Hi Chris Did you end up working out, how to do it as I am having same problem, I have a Mac Mini with a external hard drive and I cant find it anywhere using option for destination! I have been putting down loads on the desk top than copy onto other external's, must be a easier way, hope you worked it out! Thanks kel

Thanks, I think I have found a solution, I should be able to run the cat five down the cavity between brick work and internal frame, as it is a external wall, I only just click as I was out walking to day around a area of new houses and it dawn on that we only have to lift a tile for access, with my second point which is not as critical I am gong to give the overpower line a shot, as it basically just accessing files from PC to watch, no as important as music to me! So hopfuly problem solved! Kel

Hi Ron The problem as I see it is, that if I run CAT 5 it will be running next to power cable as I will have pull it down the caitiy with the power cable!Our home is around 13 years young, what would you do Ron! Thanks Kel

Chris,I read about the monstor ones the other day, they look like there ok, cant find them in Australia thou, there are plenty of brands out there!also from what I read I believe that they have made mass advances in the technogy of late. Eloise from what I can understand is that these work on a different frenquency than 50 to 60 hz, one would guess it would not be like a fridge motor? Hopfully someone has used them or maybe I will have to be the first and report back!If I decided to go down that track. I was going to run Cat5 sheilded cable until I ordered over the net and got ripped with normal Cat5, left a bad taste. Thanks Kel

Hi Just read with great interest, as I know have a Mac Mini and Weiss Dac, so do I understand correctly that I will gain know real benifit in the quality of sound using a better USB cable then the one supplied by manufacture going from my Mac music sever to external Hard Drives? But the real benifit will be had from using a better quality from Mac to Weiss which is a given with in reason! So does it make any differance to the sound if the power is disconected in Fire wire cable, as I think I read it was more to do it with the conection of external hard drives that use a power supply that this needed to be done so as to gain a bennifit? The two cable going to be reviewed by Chris do they come standard with the power cable disconected? Thanks kel

Hi I have a question I own a MSB Platinum 111 Dac, I am moving in the direction of a computor server, they have a up grade, that includes a USB conection, my problem is if I understand corectly that this new upgrade upsamples 44.1/16 bit to 352.8/32 bit x 8 and it will do the same with 192/24 to 384/32 x 2. What'S the fors and agianst doing this, is it all marketing?Or is there a benifit!, I all so like the Weiss 202! Thanks Kel

Hi Mintzar I am thinking of using a mini Mac as a music server and came across this tread for your power supply, is it compatible if the 2010 model?Iam not sure what previous one's looked like but this has that detachable two prong power cable, any chance of getting some pic of the finish product?
