I have a HiFace BNC and a PS Audio Digital Link 3. Until recently I was using a Zu Ash (1ft) or Belden 1694A (5ft) with SQ results at par with USB and slightly worse than AEX/TOSLINK - which often made me think that something is wrong with my hearing because my experience was nothing like the reviews.
So, last week I tried a 12ft audio interconnect (Blue Jeans LC1) instead and the sound quality took a quantum leap for the better! Clarity and dynamics were back, previously it felt like notes were being dropped but now all the music is right there.
I don't think the first two cables are defective or anything. I ordered a new HiFace to try the same experiment and it holds true. The high end Zu and true digital coax cable sound worse compared to a 12ft analog interconnect. I did read something about HiFace running at 2.3V vs. 0.5V. Maybe it's related.
I'm curious if you guys have any experience with a PS Audio Digital Link 3 with a HiFace BNC? If yes, what cable worked?
